"My best friend and I visited this restaurant while in OC for a girls’ trip to attend the “Wine on the Beach” festival. We chose this spot because it was within walking distance of our hotel and had a decent 4.1 rating. The atmosphere when you walk in is neat, with fishtanks and unique décor hanging from the ceiling. We opted to sit inside to avoid bugs outdoors. The lighting in the evening was very dim, but our waitress was friendly and personable, which made the experience pleasant at first. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks, and while they were decent, I’m not entirely sure they were worth the price—though we didn’t mind too much since we were on a girls’ trip. However, here’s why I’m giving this place 1 star. As we were finishing our drinks, I noticed movement under a table opposite of us. I looked over but didn’t see anything right away. A few moments later, I caught something out of the corner of my eye again, and when I looked closely, I saw it—a mouse. I was horrified. My stomach churned, and I felt like everything I had just eaten was about to come back up. I continued watching to see where it would go, and a waitress noticed me hanging out of the booth, looking uncomfortable. I kept it quiet enough that she could hear me but not loud enough to ruin anyone else’s appetite who were currently eating. I told her there was a mouse running around, and she said she’d tell someone. Our waitress soon returned and said, I heard what you saw, but nothing more was done. While I understand the restaurant has outdoor seating, there is a door that separates the two areas. I’m not sure if this is a common issue here, but having a mouse inside the dining area is unsanitary and completely unacceptable. After spending almost $150, I’m appalled that the manager never came out to address the situation. This experience basically ruined the evening, and unfortunately, I can’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. A clean, sanitary environment is non-negotiable, and this place failed to provide that."
