"The hotel staff were wonderful, however, when I first saw this hotel I thought it was a strip club because the colours of the building were pretty tasteless. My room was adequate for my one night stay and the food in the restaurant bar was excellent. The location too, is very seedy with drug addicts loitering across the street and in the surrounding streets. My major complaint is that although I had prepaid my stay entirely before arriving, I was asked to leave a deposit of $250CAD. I didn 't charge anything to my room and left it neat and tidy. At checkout I was expecting a refund of my deposit. It is almost a month since my stay and the amount of $250, although not taken out of my account, sits as a pending transaction with my bank. How is this legal, that an hotel can just delay clearing this amount from their books. I have attempted to phone from Australia to the hotel and cannot get through. I have sent two emails requesting that my deposit be released and have had no response at all. Whenever I have left a deposit at hotels in the past and charged nothing to my room, my deposit is instantly released. I have to assume that they are not very efficient and have a don 't care attitude."
