"It was my birthday, and although I adore this venue and the performers, the service was incredibly disappointing. At our table of five, everyone else received their drinks and service repeatedly, while I kept getting overlooked, even after mentioning multiple times that it was my birthday. It took nearly an hour for my first drink to arrive, by which point my friends were already tipsy. I’m not sure why I was the only one not being served at our table. I had booked the table and brought the group, so the overall service experience was very frustrating."

"This restaurant exhibits a serious lack of professionalism. I would strongly recommend that military personnel visiting Newport or Middletown steer clear of this place. I placed my order two hours before closing time, but they deliberately delayed it and ultimately canceled it without notifying me. When I attempted to reach out for clarification, they ignored my calls. In my previous experiences picking up pizza from here, I found the staff to be quite unfriendly. Even when I tried to order for delivery to avoid their attitude, they failed to get it right. If you’re looking for pizza, I would suggest looking elsewhere, as you’re unlikely to receive it from this restaurant."

"From the friendly bartender to the fantastic food, Governor 's Tavern really exceeded my expectations. We stopped in on a snowy February day. We had checked out the fancier spots in Hudson and weren 't really feeling it. Plus the reviews of Governor 's Tavern drew us in. Tucked away on a side street, Governor 's Tavern is open for dine in dining. All tables were spaced out,m. It was clean and cozy. I felt very safe eating here. As other reviews have said, the menu is limited but INCREDIBLE. Their Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich is the best I 've ever had. Flavorful, juicy, and crispy! We also got the roulette wings. Once you find the spicy one, you 'll want to order a dozen! The tropical drink mixes are all made in house and the Mai Thai was delicious on the strong side and not full of sugary sweet, very refreshing. We will definitely be back! A special shout out to Britt for the incredible service. It was really a great experience all around."
