"Complete disaster! I had dinner here on September 5, 2009, and I can say without a doubt that I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was terrible. The waitress was unfriendly and even shortchanged me on the bill, then confronted me for not leaving a tip. We were asked to leave and told never to come back (which I have no problem with). To sum it up in one word: HORRIBLE! After dining at several other restaurants on the island and sharing my experience with some locals, the majority responded with, "I bet you were at Buddy's." I truly hope the owner takes action to improve the staff and provide better service to customers."

"The fact that we were the only two people in the restaurant at 12:15 pm should have been a red flag for sure. We both ordered gumbo and an oyster basket. The gumbo was indeed fiery, had good flavor but extremely peppered. The oysters did not resemble any fried oysters I have ever seen in my 82 years in New Orleans. "I’m not sure what I’m missing. With all of the stellar reviews I had to check this place out. Since I was dining alone I didn’t order one of the low country buckets of food- it would have been wasted, I opted for a simple fried Carolina shrimp dinner. At first glance the shrimp looked huge and yummy. When I tried to eat one there was so much breading on the shrimp they were almost hard to find. The French fries were unremarkable and unseasoned. I ate what I could and left the rest. Not my idea of a great seafood restaurant. Maybe the low-country boils are better."
