"Full disclaimer, I 'm from New Orleans so my 'bar ' is higher than someone not as familiar with good Cajun food. Papa Dubis is very popular with the locals. They seem to focus on a variety of sauces (Imperial Sauce, Lobster Sauce etc that you can pair with rice. Being from New Orleans I was not familiar with either sauce, as crawfish and shrimp are more common than lobster, which is something you might find on menus in a restaurant up North (Maine . They do order in authentic french bread from New Orleans (great! , but the two times I ordered a poboy the bread was stale and the restaurant was not overly generous on the fried shrimp. They also pressed the sandwich, which most in Louisiana would not do as it just made the stale bread even crunchier (I ate the shrimp and left the bread on the plate . Same when I ordered their special of the day, crawfish pasta. Maybe 10 tiny crawfish tails with it mostly being pasta and sauce. Their gumbo is popular, but my cup of gumbo tasted like rice and brown gravy (something you would eat with pot roast , and I didn 't see any shrimp or sausage. All this to say.. if you like food with flavor/spices, and you are not super picky on it being 100% authentic, give them a try and see if it 's for you. In my opinion, the best thing there are the onion rings, live music some nights, and the dessert specials (bread pudding etc Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4"

"A short drive up the interstate took Fat Man Reviews to Fava's Restaurant in Georgetown, KY. Fava's Restaurant is a family owned restaurant that has been around since 1910. They serve southern plates and desserts. We started with the Frickles. The pickles were hamburger chip cut, they were lightly breaded and fried to an amazing crunch. They were served with homemade ranch, which was some of the best that I have ever had. I also tried the Chili. It was made with hamburger, beans, onions, tomatoes and juice. It was a thick and hearty dish but was not spicy at all. Furthermore, it was a good stick to your rib's chili, I really enjoyed it. My fiancé tried the Soup 1/2 Sandwich, which came as a whole sandwich. She had the special of the day, Vegetable Beef and upgraded to a grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was on white(wheat, Texas toast, Rye and a hoagie is an option), came with cheddar and Swiss. It was grilled to perfection and the cheese was melted and gooey. The soup was made with vegetables out of a can and hamburger, not a roast as I have typically seen. Again this was a hearty, thick dish that had been cooked all day and the flavors had married together. It reminded me more of a burgoo than a soup, but it was delicious. I tried the Award Winning Catfish, with homemade tartar sauce, hush puppies and fries. The fries were cooked to a golden crunchiness, the cornmeal hush puppies were as well. The catfish was served in nuggets, cornmeal breaded and fried to perfection. The fish was moist and flaky, and the creamy slightly sweet tartar sauce was great as well. I can see how it is award-winning. Fava's Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner plates. As well as soups, sandwiches, burgers and salads. They also serve beer and wine The place is small, so there may be a wait, and the wait staff is excellent. Fava's Restaurant is Fat Man Approved and Recommend."

"Hi I am an 11 year old girl who came to this restaurant with my mom and little sister. I’m going to jump right into the worst customer service we ever got! We order our food the food is OK then we realized my waffles didn’t get here. So my mom asked the waiter about my waffles and she says, “the waffles are not done yet, I’ll bring them out shortly.” And I’m like how does chicken, fish, French toast, and Fries get here before waffles! So it takes another 30 minutes until my mom asks for the manager. So the manager comes with an attitude and jumped right into the problem without a greeting! My mom keeps cutting her off explaining the problem while the manager is cutting her off midsentence! The manager then explain how we can either get .45 taken off or the waiter will have to cover my full meal! Then my mom starts to get frustrated with the problem because we both don’t understand why the waiter have to pay for my meal. My mom explained to me that they need to be paying for our bill and that this madness is uncalled for. So we leave paying our full bill! My mom didn’t want to let our waiter pay so we took the full bill. On top of that there’s a sign that says “ you cannot change your order was placed.” I think. But the manager made it seem like my mom was trying to change her order, which she was not! Also my little sister‘s water cup had a small hole causing a puddle of water on our table. We go home and look at the reviews and what we experienced happened to other people to. This may have gone back 5+ years. People I do not recommend this place because of the poor customer service. Enjoy the rest of your day."
