"I first visited Longbeach from the UK in 1987 to see my brother, but I was too young to fully appreciate a classic pub with its rustic charm. However, I made up for it with several visits over the years. I remember one year returning to the UK and someone asked me if I had really been to California since I didn't have much of a tan. I suppose you don’t get much sun in O’Connell’s! Unfortunately, I haven’t been there for many years, but I’m sure it’s just as excellent as it always was."
