"I may be slightly biased because this is my niece Deb McCreary's place. However, this Ice Cream Fountain is truly unique! I very much love the Pretzel ice cream and I'm normally a chocolate or mint chocolate ice cream. Eckels Ice Cream Fountain also does lunch . You have the pick of candy there as well. Eckels also does wonderful window displays, according to times of year or event. There is entertainment, you will have to find out what is happening when you are in Mechanicsburg, Pa. I'm not sure but I believe you can book place for private parties. Also will have to talk to Deb McCreary for info on that as well. Last but not least a movie was shot there with Angelina Jolie, Winona Ryder and Whoopie Goldberg. There are pictures encased in thick glass on tables and booths. Finally there is a Vintage Pharmacy there that has original prescriptions and instruments and medicines from another era. When you visit be sure to look up at the original ceilings, punched tin, absolutely beautiful. There are Cola Cola soda machine from back in the sixties and things to buy in the big glass counters (that's where you will find the candy as well). There is something for everyone at Eckels Ice Cream Fountain. Come by and ask the Soda Jerk for a dish of hand scooped ice cream for dessert after you have lunch. Every time I come up from Mississippi I have to go to Eckels Ice Cream Fountain for the best ice cream around. Sure hope to see you next time I come and visit.
