"I accidentally left my phone on the floor, and when I went to retrieve it, I could see that the benches had not been pulled out and cleaned regularly; it was rather neglected. Management should consider regular deep cleanings if they are short on staff.
On a positive note, the clam chowder we ordered was delicious, and the salads were fresh and crispy. However, the bread took about 30 minutes to arrive, just about 10 minutes before our main courses. We also ordered oysters on the half shell, which were priced at $3.50 each but were extremely small, roughly the size of a quarter (and I’m not exaggerating). Furthermore, we had to order a minimum of half a dozen.
For our main courses, we chose the Seafood Astoria, priced at $25.99, which features grilled fish with crab, petite prawns, and mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce. Unfortunately, I found the sauce to be thin and lacking flavor—it tasted watered down, unlike what I usually expect. The mushrooms were undercooked, the crumbs on the plate were sparse, and the prawns were overcooked. I was disappointed, as the dish didn’t taste fresh. The seasonal vegetables were indeed fresh, but they ran out of baked carrots, so the server offered other options. I chose potatoes as a side, which were just okay—I ended up only eating a quarter of my portion.
Overall, I wish the experience had been better. It’s frustrating when food doesn’t meet expectations. We didn’t want to disturb our waitress, as it wasn’t her fault, but I believe management should be aware of these issues."
