"I have loved book trader for years! They are a wonderful new Haven fastening a large independent bookshop with a veg-friendly caffe. the large caffe room is from windows, how to eat in a greenhouse, and they are surrounded by books! on beautiful weather days they use one of the rare outdoor terraces of new haven and people watching on the chapel street. the menu had for ever 2 vegetarian sandwiches: fromnegut’s (roasted) veggies that could be vegan when they keep the braut; and the tempesto, a pretty beautiful tomaten mozz sandwich. they have recently got a vegan option, the firm of eden lentil-quinoa veggie burger, which I did not get to try but have high hopes. the (non-vegan) brownies are also amazingly good and as big as their palm. homemade ice cream and abi are good drinks options. super nice cozy bookstore caffe, surrounded by books on a charming part of the Cape Street. a victor!"

"I have been here so many times and it has always been good the donuts today I went I just could not believe what I seen I spend $20 on 2 bags of donuts, mango smoothie dorito nachos. The smoothie was nasty very my donuts I have never seen my donuts ever look like this in the past 7 years up going they look disgusting I really wanted to eat some but this is such a disappointment then the nachos had sloppy joe meat on it and a pound of sour cream the guy that worked there today had to take a picture of my order because he supposedly didn't see it on his system he really made this place look so bad i don't know if I would be returning after this that is sad because I really loved this place."

"This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant! Maybe they do better later in the day, but don't come in the early morning if you want a good espresso. I hate to say it, but I have to leave a negative review because there was no manager for me to speak to. There was a sweet older woman working at the cafe station, but she had no clue how to make anything beyond basic coffee. The staff had no real knowledge or training on preparing espresso-based drinks. I paid almost $9 for a small iced mocha and croissant sandwich. The iced mocha was filled with powdery, granular chocolate syrup that completely overpowered the taste of the espresso. I asked for it to be remade four times and each time she insisted it was fine, suggesting I just drink it as is. I felt awful because she didn't know how to refund me. I ended up leaving without a proper drink after waiting for nearly half an hour. I arrived at 6:44 AM and didn't leave until 7:10 AM. My drink was still terrible. My suggestion is for them to put up a sign saying "no espresso drinks available until..." after a certain time when they have more help. This was a very disappointing experience and made me late for work. There are so many other espresso places nearby, but I decided to give this one a chance because it's close to my job. Never again! I paid almost $9 for a drink that was full of powdery chocolate syrup and poorly made espresso. I feel ripped off!"

"Food was awful. Every dish. The egg salad was sliced and drenched and mixed with an off-brand salad dressing and put on a low budget croissant. Their corn chowder was bland with no flavor. The pumpkin bread was dry. The shrimp salad was boiled shrimp drenched in an off brand salad dressing with no seasoning. The chicken salad tasted like canned deviled spread. Pimento cheese didn’t taste homemade. Everything seemed to be low budget store bought slapped together. No attention to detail. Olive green plastic table covers. No China ... cheap white restaurant plain plates. Their signature Charleston Delight desert served on almost every plate in plastic jello cups, was nothing to write home about. If you delight in an awesome tea room experience, then skip this place! Wish I could give them zero stars!"
