"There’s a reason this restaurant has stood the test of time for over 73 years and has been crowned the best for hot dogs—quality. I’ve been a customer since 1982, and while some might argue that things have changed, the only thing that’s truly changed is the passage of time. It’s no longer just a cash-only establishment; the front has seen a bit of modernization, and a fryer or grill may have been replaced here and there. But the food? That remains unchanged. The menu has grown over the years, yet they still serve the best hot dogs and fries, without a doubt. I’ve tried various hot dog joints throughout Connecticut, but for me, Rawley’s (Hummels Dogs) is the top choice. Blackie's (Rosol Dogs) in Cheshire takes second place, while Capitol Grill (Rosol Dogs) in New Britain comes in third. Each of these could be number one if it weren’t for the differences in their menus and styles. Overall, Rawley’s is a fantastic place that offers hot dogs, burgers, chicken, and shakes—likely creating a bit of envy for Dairy Queen, which is right next door!"
