"This was my 1st dining here and overall I really liked the relaxed environment. Everyone was very friendly. The relaxed atmosphere reminded me of dining in Europe. Everyone takes their time and it’s not a rushed environment and I really enjoyed that. If you are in a rush this probably isn’t the restaurant for you. The vibe is very chill. Now on to the food. I left feeling like a stuffed turkey. They food was good and we ate so much. I would recommend the French toast and the crab quesadilla. The shrimp and grits were cool. I liked that the quesadilla came with rice and it was kind of sweet which balanced out the savory taste of the quesadillas. I would say the food is well balanced. The French toast were like French toast sticks they weren’t overly sweet which is great. It comes with a sauce on the side which was really good. I would definitely dine again for brunch. And the drinks are good I got the guava Bellini and we also go the Cesar salad that was pretty good. Oh and the corn bread was pretty good."

"I am so disappointed with this place : . We started going here years ago when it first opened but this is a totally different establishment now, and not a good one! In a nutshell, the service was terrible, our waiter was beyond RUDE and surly and it was absolutely freezing like they hadn't paid the heating bill). The food was mediocre at best and the server was super indifferent to the fact that my water glass was completely cracked through. Honestly it was just one of the WORST dining experiences we have had in a very long time! I have always had high hopes for this place because we have had some good memories here but I don't feel like this is the same place as it was over 12 years ago. MY husband and I have been in the service industry for over 30 years and we literally walked out of there shocked! $21 for a breakfast entree and freezing the whole time from the minute we walked in to the time we left? No thank you! If I wanted this to be my experience I would have sat outside and honestly the waiter was so rude I wasn't looking to pick a fight as he had already been nasty. We work with customers on a daily basis and recognize sarcasm and we are ok with that in the right circumstance. . We will never go back to this restaurant ever again. I'm happy to take my business elsewhere where at least I am valued as a customer. Please do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else! This is only my second 1star review ever. My friend had the same situation, same rudeness and mediocre food with high prices ."

"I’m not often in South Jordan area, but decided to try a new place. The food at Porch was 4.5 stars! Fresh and tasty. The carrot cake dessert is delicious and worth the decision to not get small starters so we’d save room. Although, we’ll have to go back for the starters cause everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious. Service was kinda slow even though it wasn’t very busy and the environment/decor was pretty plain. Good thing I went because the food was great!"

"we waited approx. 7-9 minutes on our table before we finally flattened a server to order a drink. we got 2 apps to start, and about 1/2 away through these apps, our drinks finally came. a few minutes later our escapes came. timing was completely out, and my Bourbon potion really didn't go with the trout entree. beignets should have been good after the server, b/c the chef spent time in new orleans. have not dessert dry, peasant, tasteless like this in a LONG time. I suggest pinewood should work on service and attention for the males, and please take the boring beignets from the menu!"

"Rarely do I write a negative review, but our experience at Bavel was marginal at the most. It was a rainy night and We were seated on the patio next to a plastic curtain that had a gap that allowed the rain to sputter in we had at huddle together to avoid the rain. The patio seating felt like a dining hall with bad lighting, horrible acoustics. The music was way too loud. The server insisted that we have the sommelier choose a wine for us. He brought over three choices based on our preferred wine. We felt like the three choices were limited and his knowledge was limited. He decanted it in a jug with a very small mouth. The food was good."

"A beautiful venue. It wasn't loud. In part because it wasn't very busy considering was a 7:30 reservation on a Thursday night. OpenTable only had two reservations available for a party of two. When we arrived, most of the table were open. A handful of people came in with no reservations and were seated immediately at one of the many open tables. The pork was delicious. The sauce that it came in, however, was WAY too salty. Same with the crust on the trout. So much so that it was inedible. We had to scrape it off the meat and fish. We ordered a flight of their red wines. The house pinot was very good. The merlot and Tempranillo were too earthy to enjoy. The staff was friendly and gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal. I thought for the amount of food was very steep. It was $180 dollars with tip. We ordered (a charcuterie board, 2 flights of wine and a bottle of the pinot, and 2 entrees that came with no veggies or sides—just the fish or pork."

"Most of the time I come here the burgers are made exactly to specification. I love the bookmaker burger. The fries are golden, medium sized, crispy outside soft inside. I would give the food a 5 but there have been 2 times that the burgers are way over cooked, I like rare to medium rare. I have found when we go during the busy hours this is when it happens and the wait time is ridiculous. The last time we went when it was busy, we waited 50 minutes for our burgers and there was no apology or acknowledgment about this wait time nor any effort to ammend this. Because of this, my husband doesn't want to return. I continue to go on off hours when it is very slow. During these times the food is excellent as well as the choice of beer. Staff is kind and friendly at the times I choose to go."
