"I had to be in Ashland at 8:30 for a brief appointment and thought it would be nice to find a place for breakfast. Unfortunately there was not much of a choice beyond the standard fast food places. But I checked out Trip Advisor and found Downtown Perk, which was a great little spot in the old downtown area. You can enter through an antique shop on Main Street or you can enter directly through a quaint little alleyway in the rear. You order your coffee (many flavors and formulations) at the counter and place your food order. Your food then is brought to your table. I think this eatery is more commonly frequented by the lunch crowd for which there is an extensive menu of sandwiches, soups, salads. The breakfast offerings were more limited but there were quite enough to choose from. My choice was the Good Morning Flatbread with egg, bacon and cheese made savory with peppers, red onions, and hot sauce on the side. Delicious and ample! I loved the Ashland memorabilia decorating the surrounding walls and shelves. Most seemed to date from the early and mid 20th century and was artfully and displayed. A few pictures are posted here."
