"I 've heard about this place for years only b/c three of my younger in-laws are former Aggies. This place used to be a regular hangout for them. So on a recent Saturday we decided to gather the whole group, drive 90 minutes from the Georgetown area and have a couple of birthday celebrations in Snook at the renowned Sodolak 's Steakhouse, or Original Country Inn. Shanna was our server and she did a magnificent job of keeping our group of 12 satisfied with appetizers, drinks topped off, plates cleared, condiments refreshed, napkins, etc. If anyone ever complains about service here it 's likely not Shanna 's fault. Evidently, she 's been an employee here, and a great one for many years. Thanks again Shanna! Everything you 've read about how big the steaks are is real. The sirloin steak starts at extra small which equates to 16 oz., or a full pound. They get bigger from there. Same with the chicken fried steaks. If you get the large portion it is two small steaks. But each small steak will just about cover the plate. Hope you 're hungry. We sampled most of the appetizers including the famous chicken fried bacon, jalapeno poppers, fried mushrooms, onion rings and corn nuggets. OMG. They were all fantastic. The CF bacon comes with a side of white gravy for dipping but the shroooms comes with a bowl of excellent ranch dressing. My ribeye was cooked just right, medium rare, and seasoned perfectly. I would estimate the uncooked weight to be about 18-20 ounces, boneless. My only knock is I think the owner needs to upgrade their knives. The ones they issue are cheap, dull and don ' 't cut very well which makes one tend to think the steaks are not very tender, which is not true. I got the standard fries and salad with mine instead of upgrading to the baked potato. However, for those that got the baked potato you receive a generous basket full of butter, cheese and sour cream for toppings."
