"While Copper John’s may look like any other pub from the outside, the food and drinks absolutely exceeded expectations. It has a cozy feel, friendly staff, and sports on the TVs.And with the location close to both Central Park and Times Square, it’s a great pub and restaurant if you’re just visiting or staying in the Midtown area.I highly recommend you check it out, but here’s our full review if you need any more convincing. ?Copper John’s Interior StaffCopper John’s is under new ownership and their cocktails are made by a mixologist who has worked all over the world and mixed drinks at The Dead Rabbit. The staff was kind, the service was fast, and it wasn’t too crowded. They didn’t have the best TV set up ever, but there are about 5-7 total TVs throughout.Copper John’s FoodWe had Chicken Katsu Fries and their Pot Pie. Both exceeded expectations! The Chicken Katsu Fries were by far the better of the two. Some of the best fries I’ve had at a bar or pub. Try them out!Copper John’s Cocktails DrinksWe had a tasty cocktail and a nice draft cider from Austin Downeast. It’s under new ownership and their cocktails are made by a mixologist who has worked all over the world and used to mix drinks at The Dead Rabbit, an NYC staple. Be sure to try a cocktail!I truly Austin’s cider, they are always a solid option. "This is not a “dieci” (10) but a due” (2). (1) Made reservations online (through their website) but when arriving at the restorante was informed by receptionist that my name was not on the reservation list. Was told : We seldom check our online presence, sir . Hmmm...Luckily, we were able to be seated at a table anyhow. (2) Food was reasonable but not upscale Italian. Nothing to write home about. Our table was not serviced with bread and the standard olive oil tray whereas all others were. No water was offered. And now the kicker... (3) We ordered an appetizer for both of us and one entree to split. Waitress swiftly told us there would be an extra service charge of 4$ to bring a second plate. She must have seen our utterly surprise for hearing this since the manager came over immediately to explain. Be aware that this extra charge is standard in the restaurant industry he sternly affirmed. Here is where the shoe pinches: An extra service charge for a split menu item is often applied by UPSCALE restaurants where the chef prepares both plates so they look alike when served. Nothing qualifies this establishment as such. People were dining dressed in shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops and even wearing base-ball caps..and it would cost me $4 to have an extra plate on the table here?!? Although the interior of the resto is quite nice and the live music is pleasant, Diecis will not be an arrividerci for us."

"First, let’s talk about the parking situation. You have to pay $5 to park at the hotel, which is refundable if you stay for less than two hours. However, good luck getting served and leaving before that time is up! The restaurant wasn't busy on the weekday we visited, yet we still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we took our time looking through the menus and pretty much knew what we wanted to order. However, after 20 minutes, a waiter finally approached us. He was friendly at first, but as soon as we mentioned we had a Groupon, his attitude changed dramatically. He became quite rude while explaining that Groupon customers had to choose from a different menu. He practically tossed the new menus onto our table and informed us that another waiter would take care of us. The Groupon menu had limited options, but we did manage to decide what we wanted before the new waiter arrived. By this point, we had already been there for nearly an hour. While I was in the middle of asking the waiter a question, he rudely interrupted to inform me that the tip wasn’t included in the Groupon. Seriously? I didn’t need that reminder, and how rude to cut me off like that. As I tried to place our order, he interrupted again, insisting that we could only do one thing at a time and that he had to bring the wine first. This was incredibly frustrating. He eventually returned with the wine and mentioned he would bring some bread shortly. While he was gone, I noticed my water glass had red lipstick on it—something I certainly wasn’t wearing. He took a further 15 minutes to return, and by that time, my mom had to firmly remind him that we had been waiting over an hour without ordering. Despite any procedures he claimed to follow, we just wanted to place our entire order and finally have our meal. Eventually, he did take our order and promised a clean glass of water. We waited some more, and as others who came in after us were finishing their meals, I reached my breaking point. I got up to ask for the check for the wine and bread, stating that we would be leaving to eat elsewhere since it was unacceptable that we were still waiting. Ironically, while we were preparing to leave, our appetizer finally arrived—after a wait of over two hours. I turned to my mom and asked if she wanted to stay or leave, and she suggested we just eat since the food was finally here. We quickly finished our appetizer, but then waited another 30-40 minutes for our main courses, which were so salty that I couldn’t eat them. I asked for dessert to-go, not wanting to stay even a moment longer. In the end, I left a $10 tip, knowing how tough the service industry can be, even if it wasn’t deserved. I should note that he never brought back a clean glass of water. The bottom line is, steer clear of this place. The service is terrible, and the food isn’t worth the hassle. The manager mentioned it was his last week, which explained why he seemed indifferent to addressing the numerous issues."
