"this restaurant came recommended by a few of my coworkers ! I pass this restaurant on my way home from work and thought it looked very charming. our table was directly across from the hostess stand there were four of us one of our 3 tables was extremely uneven , and wobbled so badly that we couldn 't put our dirty cocktail glasses or bread basket on it for fear they would fall off. The waiter asked to take our orders w/o asking if we wanted any starters we had to ask him it that was ok....he said , yea whatever you want to do there were only a handful of people in the restaurant on Sauturday evening so it wasn 't as though he was crushed w/ customers. our meal was ok at best. We wanted to order dessert but when we ordered coffee and Capuchinos, we were told there was no cream to make a capuchino and coffee was ok if we wanted our coffee black. He said ' we were hit hard w/ PITT graduation and our delevery wont be here until next week. He said they didn 't have cream for days we were surprised no one went to a local store to stock up until their delivery arrived I used the ladies room before we left and it was dirty and smelled the floor was filthy on our way out , I noticed the tile floor was very dirty, mostly near the hostess stand and the tile floor near the door on the way out of the restaurant was also filthy we were very disappointed! cannot go back ! if the floors are noticeably filthy, can only imagine what the kitchen looks like and other areas not in plain site!"

"The hostess Genevieve was just absolute sweetheart and very accommodating. The place is gorgeous, quite yet with some soul live music in the background. Food and appetizers are absolutely delicious. Good wine choice. Tasting flight is not big, but all overall I would highly recommend and definitely will be back. Everyone in our group loved everything as well."

"At Awake the atmosphere was good, very mellow, and relaxing with friendly and helpful servers. The drinks were creative and tasty, although we did find a few of the mixed drinks to be watery with too much ice to mixer ratio. This was disappointing because the cost of the drinks is still pretty high. The crudite plate was tasty but slightly overpriced for the volume of food. The artisanal grilled cheese and breakfast burritos we ordered were very dry and bland. Need to up the game on the food at Awake, but the atmosphere and the idea are on the mark."

"It's really a 4.5 out of 5, but I felt it was more appropriate to give it a solid 4. The desserts are fantastic, especially the mousse cakes, cheesecakes, and pretty much anything that comes with their cream. The staff is always friendly, and there are usually enough people at the counter. However, they could improve their organization with a numbering system."

"After hearing about this restaurant for years, we finally decided to check it out. The service was outstanding. My husband, daughter, and I ordered a large white pizza to share, but unfortunately, we were let down by our choice. The crust was soggier than crispy, and the flavor was rather flat. It took about 30 minutes for our pizza to arrive, and we noticed that only around 10 tables were occupied when we first arrived. By the time we left, however, the restaurant was bustling, coinciding with the Boo on Broadway night. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the pizza; I usually prefer a thinner crust, so next time we’ll opt for a pizza with more toppings. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and our server was very friendly."

"It was our first time here and we let the bartender know (she couldn’t have cared less). Cocktails took forever during a slow time of day. Bar tender said they lost the order even though we were sitting at the tiny bar that seats 6 people. Then she made them wrong. One was whiskey based and tasted like vodka on the rocks the other was supposed to have grenadine and didn’t. Didn’t ask how the drinks were or anything just took our menu and gave us the bill. Also the new manager and staff were tasting everyone’s drinks with straws truthfully, there are better options in town. Hopefully you have a better experience than we did either way."
