"I visited here for dinner since my hotel was nearby. I came on a busy sports night, a weekday and early...so not many customer in other words. By the time I had left, the restaurant was getting full. The menu is not that large. They have basic sushi, rolls, ramen, appetizers, etc. Not a super large selection of Japanese dishes.I just ordered tonkatsu ramen, no spice, and 3 orders of nigiri sushi, fatty salmon, fatty yellowtail and red snapper. The tonkatsu ramen was a good size, and all ingredients included were good. The pork slices were tender and seasoned well. The egg was pretty good. The noodles were standard as were the rest of the ingredients, mushrooms and green onion sliivers. The broth was milky and tasted good. Overall, I would say it's an average ramen bowl but I felt it needed more ingredients....at least fresh garlic at a minimum. The nigirii slices are very generous here. They feel more like sashimi since they're so thick and large. No complaints here though regarding the size. The salmon was definitely fatty but good. The fatty yellowtail was again large and came with 2 slivers of yellowtail on top of the nirigi slice. The red snapper was the most confusing one that came with a sprinkle of black pepper on top. I didn't notice it until I ate the 2nd one and started nearly choking as I wasn't expecting to taste it on sushi. The salmon was obviously fresh, while it seems the yellowtail was not fresh, nor was the redsnapper which almost didn't even taste like red snapper I've ever had before. Now comes the bad part, I think either the yellowtail or the red snapper made me sick and before I left the restaurant. I had to go throw up. Not sure if it was improper temperature or just old fish. That sucked because I really wanted to like this place. Service on the other hand was excellent."

"Always on the hunt for new ramen places to try. Found on Yelp and there were mixed reviews but my son loves ramen so we went. Nice modern feel with dark woods glass light fixtures. Regular tables and a few bar tables as well. Ordered chicken wings and 2 ramen bowls along with some beverages. The woman behind the counter was nice but wasn't enthusiastic, she paced the bar with her airpods in. The food was brought out in a timely fashion. The wings were nice and crispy, piping hot. The wings alone lacked seasoning. The butter kimchi dipping sauce scallion garnish were the saving grace. Onto the ramen bowls. Both were generous in the portions. The miso ramen was flavorful but still felt a bit underseasoned. The chasu pork had good flavor, wasn't dry but it was cut THICK. I needed to BITE through for it tear. Due to the thick cut of the chasu there was too much fat to chew which was a disappointment. The shoyu smoked chicken ramen had a jerk chicken undertone, which explained the plantain chips? My son enjoyed the slices of chicken the garlic croquettes. He couldn't finish his ramen the portion was very generous. But he did enjoy it. Overall it was ok. When we got home I had to take a nap the food was so filling. When I woke up a little over an hour later.... I was so parched, I guzzled down an entire bottle of water! Oh the sodium snuck up on me!!! Would I go back, probably not. I'll head elsewhere for a better seasoned everything."

"I had tried another Kusshi branch in Pentagon Row last month which was mostly hit and a little miss. My friend kept telling me this place taste so much better. I only expected the same level food but wow was she right! This Kusshi tastes better! HTW do I know? We ordered the same things! The fatty salmon nigiri, the tuna avocado ball, the volcano roll! If Pentagon Row as 4/5, this is definitely 5/5. The service is actually faster IMO. Our waiter had really useful recommendations for us. The food came out so quick it didn't even feel like we had to wait (not to mention we were hungry). I skipped the cocktails since Pentagon Row wasn't that memorable so I cannot comment on that here. The place is quite filled with activity and noise. It's not a quiet restaurant but more like a bar and a restaurant. The dimmed lighting here still bothers me like Pentagon Row but that's probably just me because I like the spotlight on my food lol I will definitely come back to this Kusshi! oh oh, and I love the big-size bowl that they give their miso soup in! Other sushi restaurants I've been to give me half their size. That's just satisfying.
