"Our first night in Greenville, our friends showing us around wanted to take us downtown after a local lunch. Beautiful small city. Modern art in the central squares, open air bars and restaurants, musicians playing jazz on corners, pedistrian bridges over the Reedy River falls, statues, shops, and a busy main drag where car and motorcycle owners like to show off. After a long walking tour, starting en route to CAMP, we moved on to cross the river and see Up on the Roof to get a large view of the area. A short wait in the lobby of the Embassy Suites by Hilton due to maximum occupancy requirements, brought us up to this trendy spot for locals to hang out. The employee letting us into the elevator said we 'd probably have to wait a half hour to get a drink. No, it was maybe five minutes. Crowded, due to what seemed to be a prom night gathering after the event, singles old and young, and a few tourists like us, we were still able to find seats and then improve them with time to chairs by one of the two gas fire pits. We had eaten earlier and did not try any of the food, but a few tables had a variety of shared dishes set out for their groups that looked good. The views were okay. Being late and dark, there was not much to see but lights from buildings and such. The best one is looking straight down from one side of the roof where a large mural of Greenville is painted."
