"Long before Covid, I use to review quite frequently breweries via invites from The Secret Hopper. Fast forward to recently, Modern Times in Encinitas is the one of the first I've accepted since lockdown days! I sat at the expansive window opened to the fresh air by myself and read sections of the NYT with a Hazy IPA while waiting for my order of Blistered Shishito Peppers, and a Somen Noodle Salad. I enjoy spicy food but this round of peppers was a bit on the really hot end of the heat ometer. Thankful for the cold beer and bright salad to cool down my taste buds! If you're looking for balance to go with a couple glasses of cold brew, order up from the 100% plant based menu at Modern Times Encinitas for side kicks, or just enjoy the vintage decor collections displayed on the walls. Service staff is lax, like most breweries."
