"My husband and I stayed at the ART hotel because it's part of the Amex Fine Hotel collection, though I'm still trying to figure out how. Servers were friendly for the most part, though not always attentive to check back in. Eggs were cold and overcooked at breakfast. The breakfast was so ick, we almost gave away our in free dining credit from Amex. In the end, we had dinner there and it was as unforgettable as breakfast. Will not return to either the hotel or restaurant"

"Ate here w our kids and had a nice meal. Kids had a buffet designed for them which worked out great and. Ore higher end restaurants should heed this call. $15 each but included lots of choices which kids love as well as deserts and a drink. I had the swordfish which was a bit overdone and a bit tasteless. My wife had the filet which was served over a tomatoe based medley of zucchini and squash which really didn't go with it very well. Read reviews and told side of Russell sprouts was roasted but they arrived steamed and again tasteless. All in the best part of the meal was our excellent waiter. Ate at pacific grille the night before and that meal was a lot tastier."

"This is our favorite restaurant. We enjoy the food and service every time. Often we sit at the bar and visit with other patrons which is fun. The Starters are all so delicious: Grilled asparagus with prosciutto, carpaccio, eggplant with sauce or their chef's special creation and then there is always the scallops! Dinner menu has good choices including the salmon with the Italian salsa on top, not to mention the many specials we tend to try. Its the real deal at SALA!"

"No matter what your previous thoughts on vegan food are, you must give The Village a try! The food here is a wonderful combination of presentation and flavor. Even as someone who usually eats non-vegan dishes, I was so impressed by the delicious food that I didn't miss meat or protein at all. I can't wait to return and try more dishes. The warm snap pea salad was delicious and the breakfast hash was incredible! Cara and CJ are excellent hosts who make you feel right at home, and the atmosphere is very inviting. After visiting Big Sur for years, I can honestly say that The Village offers some of the best food you'll find along Highway 1."
