"I was attracted to the Chile Colorado as one of only two items on a very extensive menu that was labeled as spicy. Indeed, I was impressed with just how spicy the sauce was, it had quite a kick. Unfortunately the beef was very thinly sliced small pieces of what looked to be inside skirt, cut very thin to disguise its chewiness, and badly over cooked. I don't doubt it is the same beef that's used on their fajitas, and suspect it's representative of a fundamental problem at Nachos. The menu is far larger than what they could reasonably be expected to serve as quality dishes. If the restaurant actually wanted to serve Chile Colorado as an offering, they'd take the time to slow cook chunks of stew beef until tender. With the sauce, and flour tortillas, that could have been a fabulous dish. I'd quote the wife, who, equally disappointed with a combo plate, said that if Robert Irvine (Restaurant Impossible) ate at Nachos, he'd shut the place down and redo the menu. The rice and refried beans that accompanied the chile colorado were fine, sure, a bit bland, but they had a classic flavor for the tex mex sides. The salsa and chips were fine, the made to order guacamole (also rather bland) was good, particularly with some salsa added, though it was an enormous portion that two hungry people didn't get through half. Service was prompt and friendly, though our table was where they congregated and talked at any down moment, which was a little off putting."

"Tuesday evening meal. Restaurant was packed and nearly at max capacity, yet service was quick and food came out hot without issue. The complimentary chips and salsa are good. Requested hot salsa and received two different “hot” salsas. Neither were very hot, but both options were flavorful and unique in their own way. Tables had a two versions of a quality readily available hot sauce (Yucateco) that’ll bring some heat if desired. For entrees we ordered the carne encebollada, taco salad, burrito casa grande (shredded chicken), and street tacos (one steak, one shrimp, and one fish). The carne encebollada was extremely flavorful, a really great dish. Highly recommend. First and foremost, the restaurant heard us when we expressed the following The taco salad was not our thing, zero seasoning in the hamburger making it a very bland dish. The components were very fresh and the portion size was great for the price. Taco salad components needed drained a lot more, the amount of fluids soaked the shell making it undesirable. Early on in our meal the waiter asked if everything was to our liking, my wife said they could take her barely touched taco salad; explaining why it wasn’t her thing. They said they’d bring something else, she declined (I was sharing my carne encebollada, there was plenty for us both). Another employee visited us to see if they could rectify the issue, declined again. Shortly thereafter we were brought tres leches cake, on the house. Afterwards we realized unseasoned taco salad might be a local thing, second or third restaurant we’ve experienced this in the area recently. Burrito casa grande Huge amount of food for a very low price (about 10.50). My granddaughter cleaned her plate, thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Street tacos flavorful food at a great price. Huge fan of the extra toppings on the side as it lets the consumer tweak each to their own taste. I’ve seen it served in this manner at much higher price points, never at this bargain price. Refried beans and rice comes with, or can be added to, every entree. Both of these items are worth getting every time, Casa Grande adds stuff to each making them both very desirable. Tres Leches cake one of the best we’ve ever had. Only other tres leches we’ve had in our travels throughout the U.S. that was close to this good was in Texas. All employees were awesome and very friendly, so much so that we added the cost of the entree and dessert to our tip to make sure they knew their professionalism and service were truly appreciated."

"BEWARE!!! This used to be a weekly meal for us when we lived nearby prior to moving about 10 miles away. About 3 months had passed since our last visit. I was in the area with my wife and we decided to stop for a late lunch. It was 2:36 when we arrived to take advantage of the lunch specials, advertised to last until 3pm. Our order was finally taken and entered into their system at 2:47, documented by my receipt. We finished our meal and received our receipt at 3:28pm. I noticed our meals where priced higher than what they had listed. I pointed this out to my server who stated it was because it was after 3pm. I explained we arrived just after 2:30, and ordered well before 3pm...probably served our meals prior to 3pm as well. She went and spoke to another employee who came to our table and gave us the same story. I told him this was absurd, and that if this was their policy, it should be clearly outlined that you need to leave before 3pm or get charged the regular prices. This is probably against the law, and I could have probably insisted on an adjustment, but I had other commitments that I had to take care of. Due to this small dollar amount, nothing more than a greedy overcharge, they are not only getting this one star review, they are also losing a regular customer that has giving them business for 15 years . Just remember this review if you decide to visit and order a lunch special!"
