"We've dined here frequently and just realized we haven't taken many photos, which is unusual for us since we tend to capture our meals wherever we go! Perhaps we were just too hungry to stop and snap pictures. We've experienced sushi all over the country, from top-rated spots in Maui and Honolulu to various acclaimed restaurants on the East Coast, including those in DC, Jersey, Connecticut, and upstate New York. We've even tried places like Sushi Ota in San Diego, Makato in DC, Morimoto in Philadelphia, Nobu in Manhattan, and many others, which all hold high reputations.
One downside to Yamaguchi is that it can be quite chilly inside; I wish they would consider keeping the temperature warmer for their guests. However, the food is excellent, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I consistently recommend this place and will continue to do so. I particularly appreciate that Mrs. Yamaguchi is often present, and her husband is the head chef. It takes years of training to become a skilled sushi chef, which is why finding authentic Japanese sushi can be rare, especially in Long Island.
If you're in search of fresh, authentic sushi on Long Island, make sure to visit Yamaguchi — just remember to bring a jacket!"
