"The concept of upscale fast casual is a new one on me. But it seems to work for Staks. I was compelled to review when this place fell so far below expectations. The service was just fine, better than fine really. The food though, while fun and well put together, wasn't that great. I'm sure it all would have been better if it were at least warm. Basically everything that arrived at the table was room temp. The grilled cheese was the saddest I'd ever seen. The cheese wasn't even melted. Beignets, bacon, egg rolls, grits, oatmeal. All of it was cold. Like I said, were it nice and hot I'm sure it would have been much more edible. At a $30/person plus tip kind of place you'd think you could at minimum have that much."
