"I saw this reviewed on Check Please and all 3 guests raved about the place. First of all there are huge TV screens all over the walls in the front dining room. The decor is interesting and the TV screens totally ruin the atmosphere. I would never have gone there if I had known about the TV screens. Our waiter spoke English with heavy accent and whenever we asked him a question he had an older gentleman speak with us. The order in which the food was served was bizarre. We ordered squab, barbecued pork slices and Chinese broccoli. They brought a rather large platter of broccoli and nothing else. After 10 minutes the older man asked if we wanted rice which we did. The other 2 dishes were brought to the later and the only plate we had was a small bread plate. The air conditioning was going full blast so the food got cold immediately. The cook pot tables are separate from the regular menu tables but adjacent to each other. The prices for the cook pot items begins at $70. which wasn't mentioned on Check Please. I think she said average meal was $30. Our bill for two was much higher partly because my companion had a flight of Sake. My nephew was visiting from Charlotte for one week and I chose this because of the raving reviews on Check Please. What a huge disappointment. There are so many other Asian Restaurants which would have provided better food, service and atmosphere. I will think twice before trying another Restaurant that they recommend!"

"With over 100 items on the sandwich menu, I opted for the Menage a Trois, made with halal chicken breast, real honey, honey mustard, BBQ sauce, pepper jack, Swiss, and smoked Gouda. The combination of the chicken breast, honey, and BBQ sauce was delightful. However, it was the Dutch crunch bread that truly made the sandwich stand out. They also offer a sauce called "dirty sauce" that I'd love to have again—I can’t quite recall it, but I remember that the bread's crunchiness and softness were memorable. San Francisco is fortunate to have a place like Ike’s for its sandwiches."

"Violetta quickly learned my usual vegan orders and began suggesting different sandwiches for me to try, which I really appreciated. The online menu has always been available, but I was thrilled to see the wall menu updated recently, adding many more vegan options. Another major improvement has been the turnaround time for orders. I used to dread making the trip to Ike's because it often took at least 30 minutes to an hour from my nearby office to receive my sandwich. Now, since Violetta started, my sandwich is ready much faster. I now consider a trip to Ike's a quick 10-minute break from my busy workday. She always keeps you informed about the wait time when you order and has consistently surprised me by stating only seven minutes, and even five recently. Overall, there has been a significant enhancement in customer experience over the past year. The staff is doing an excellent job catering to customers. In the past, it felt like you were doing them a favor by visiting, which was a real turn-off. Now, it's a much more enjoyable experience."
