"We started with empanadas as an appetizer, and they had already brought out some flattened Cuban bread, which was delicious when spread with melted butter. The empanadas were tasty but felt like they were missing a little something. Despite feeling full, we decided to order entrees as well and even got a Cuban sandwich to take back for the next day.
All the food was good, though it seemed to be lacking the bold flavors I’ve experienced in other Cuban meals. My daughter ordered a plate with pulled pork, cassava root, and tamales, which she really enjoyed. I had a grilled chicken and shrimp plate that was also very nice; in particular, I loved the shrimp and its flavor! There was certainly a lot of food on our plates, and we ended up taking most of it home with us.
I would recommend this restaurant for its food—you definitely get generous portions, which isn't a bad thing. The coffee was fantastic too! I would certainly return when I am next in Key West. Service: 5, Location: 5."
