"I was curious about this restaurant. The waiter was very very nice and so was the atmosphere but they truly need a better chef. My calamari was not quite done, the Sunday brunch was much to be desired and my wings were so salty I just could not eat them. They are really trying to improve their menu but if they had better cooks it would be a great place to go besides music and drinks. It's a real nice place though honestly. But disappointly."

"Everything thing was good, the food, the service, the atmosphere and of course the beer. Wings were well cooked and nice and spicy like we ordered them. Also had fried pickles and tater tots. Had the buffalo burger which was juicy tasty and the waffle fries were nice and crispy. Tried two different IPAs and the brown ale, all were solid. Very nice building (renovated old brick) gave it a lot of character."

"The Danish was absolutely delicious—just the perfect snack after a workout. However, the Two Eggs Platter, Any Style with a Meat was quite disappointing. The eggs were cooked adequately, but that’s where the praise ends. The potatoes and bacon were undercooked, and you could see from the color of the food that the stovetop wasn’t clean. To clarify, I’m giving two stars solely for the pastry, and nothing else."

"I recently visited Bistro 233 in Portland, Maine, which is one of my favorite places to be. The experience started off a bit rocky as we waited for about 20 minutes without anyone taking our order. Just as we were about to leave, my husband noticed that there was only one waiter serving all the tables. Despite being overwhelmed with 13 tables, the waiter was incredibly pleasant, apologetic, and took our orders promptly. The oysters, fried calamari, shrimp cabanara linguini, hummingbird cake, and martinis that we ordered were all excellent. The fried calamari was especially the best we've ever had. Despite the initial wait, I will definitely be returning to Bistro 233 as the food was worth it. The oysters were only $1 on Wednesdays and everything was seasoned well and very tasty."

"I waited 15 minutes for a table, even though the restaurant was half empty. Several other patrons in the waiting area left in frustration. The Maitre d' informed us that there was a problem in the kitchen and that service would be slow. We decided to take a chance, which turned out to be a big mistake. After a 25-minute wait, my soup was cold, the wrong salad was served, and my pasta dish was smaller than a half portion. To make matters worse, the women's restroom was unusable because there was no toilet paper available. While the staff was friendly and polite, their efforts couldn't compensate for the poor management. This is just a summary of our experience, and I’ll let readers draw their own conclusions."
