"Very disappointed! These pictures only count for a small portion of my disappointment from spending $65 on this mess. The food was absolutely gross. Not sure if maybe it was just an off day today but yuck! I ordered the fish dinner as well as the 3meat dinner. Nothing had any flavor. The fish seemed as though it was fried in old oil. The crust was hard and not attached to the fish itself. The pulled pork was not cooked thoroughly neither were the baby back ribs. As you can see in the pictures the mashed potatoes were boxed and basically watered down. The cornbread was burnt (taste and smell) It crumbled to the touch. The yams had a decent taste however they were so watery to where they just melted and had to be scooped with a spoon. There was absolutely no substance to them. This was by far the worst experience I had with hambones. The one on Alondra wasn?t the best but it was never this bad."

"Ordered two wet burritos (al pastor and steak). The steak burrito was okay, the meat was lacking in flavor from being grilled or seasoned. If it wasn't for the rest of the ingredients the burrito would have been mediocre at best. The sauce on top of theburrito was good and flavorful. The al pastor burrito was really good. The whole thing was almost spilling out of thecontainer. The meat was really good and flavorful with really good grilling flavor and seasoning. Next time I order, I'll getme another al pastor instead of steak. Update 10/29/2022: ordered another two Wet burritos one with AL Pastor and the otherCarnitas. Both were great. The al pastor was seasoned well and tasted great. The carnitas meat was tasty with that deep friedtaste and well seasoned and plenty of meat. I also ordered a California Super Burrito with fish. The burrito overall tastedgood but the only thing I didn't like was that the fries tasted stake like it was sitting out for awhile under a heat lamp andthere wasn't much fish in the burrito, I thought there would be a whole fish filet or two but instead the fish looked like itwas chopped up into cubes. There was more fries than there was fish which was kind of annoying since I paid extra $3 for thefish and there was only a few cubes of the fish."

"The taquitos combo is amazing as well as the shrimp cocktail. Haven't tried much else outside of that because those 2 are my favorite, but everything has tasted so good so far we keep coming back! Love it. I highly recommend the charro beans, they are the best I've ever had, yummm. Highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for fast (ish) mexican food."

"Went for the first time valentine's night for some good fish tacos! Pregnant and since I can't have sushi well I tried my next craving! The fish and shrimp tacos are normal size tacos which I love the size. They come with a thick tortilla and the fish was well seasoned and delicious. The shrimp was good but nothing like the fish. We also ordered Carne asada fries and the meat was delicious, the fries are well seasoned and crispy ? overall great food and had a nice date. Looking forward to return when I can drink and get try the micheladas."

"I don’t eat Mexican food all the time. But when I do, this place is my first choice. I love getting food here. The asada fries are the bomb and the California burrito, boy that is the best burrito I have ever eaten that’s not a breakfast burrito. "This place is actual garbage. So many better Mexican food places around this area worth spending your hard earned money on rather than paying for extremely mediocre, overpriced, food at El Merendero. Paid over $13 dollars for a regular asada burrito. All of the meat was jammed up to one side of the burrito, it consisted almost entirely of under-seasoned rice and beans, and honestly felt like I just paid money to be served slop. Mind you, the order also took over 20 minutes to make while there were only three other customers besides myself there. The cooks could be seen in the kitchen watching TV for like 10 minutes after my order was taken. Never coming back here again!"

"The tacos were enjoyable—good size and packed with flavor. I've had better tacos in other places, but nothing quite like this locally. I'd definitely come back again. I ordered asada, pastor, carnitas, and chorizo tacos. The asada and pastor were particularly delicious, while the carnitas were a bit dry, and the chorizo didn't have as much flavor as I anticipated. The salsas were excellent and paired nicely with the tacos. The rice was decent but not extraordinary. Just a heads up, this restaurant only offers takeout."

"Frosty King, December 1, 2023 Me my daughter my granddaughter her boyfriend we all had came here after the ? ? Exeter Christmas Parade ?. So we really did enjoy the delicious food it was so good I got a pastrami sandwich with the ? curly fries ? OMG! "My fiancé and I used to go to a Don Panchos on 35th and Glendale. This morning we woke up wanting menudo from there, but we moved to Avondale, and are short on time. So I used Google and searched menudo near me and this Don Pancho appeared here close to us in Avondale! Could it be??!! We got ready and arrived at this Don Panchos where we were greeted very kindly ? we ordered our food, sat down, and got our bean and chips. From the first bite of these chips, beans, and salsa we knew this was definitely affiliated with the other Don Pancho on 35th Ave! The manager came over and asked how our food was where we responded phenomenal! We had the Chilaquiles Rojos, Menudo, and Sope! All amazing just as it tasted at the other location! I asked about the other location and she confirmed that it is a family business and that another sibling runs the other location on 35th Ave. Now that we know this information we will come more often as we did at the other location. We used to go there weekly lol went there so much they even knew us by our names ? I’m glad to know and have a Don Panchos near our new neighborhood! The hospitality is amazing! "I had heard people around the city saying that this place was the best, but I didn't pay much attention to it. However, when my wife suggested we have a little date night and go to this restaurant, I was blown away by how delicious the food was! As a lover of tacos and Mexican cuisine in general, I have to say that this is now my favorite taco spot of all time. For years, I had been a fan of Cali Tacos in Anaheim, but this place has surpassed it. I ordered the 3 queso birria taco special with a refreshing pepino agua fresca, and it was absolutely delicious. This is definitely our new go-to taco spot."

"DECENT(3.3 stars)... but definitely NOT comparable to Taco El Gordo. I've seen people compare this place with Taco El Gordo and now that I've tried it for myself, it cannot compare. And coming to the mall location could also play a factor. Too much avocado sauce. I love avocado but I also like to taste the taco instead of having way too much avocado in the mix. Tacos weren't bad but they weren't the best either. CARNITAS there was some layer of subtle sweetness in the carnitas flavor that I'm not a fan of. Texture was fine, shredded with a little bit of charred ends but the flavor didn't do or for me. CARNE ASADA I was hoping for that nice smoked/grilled flavor but came up with typical asada. However of the two, I liked this one more than the carnitas one. Until the next review..."
