"Hathorne has superior service, a lovely ambience, great food, and obscenely good cocktails. My mother and I split 4 small plates and 1 large and had leftovers. We are used to tapas like places being stingy, but this is not the case at Hathorne! The bread, made in house, was one of the stars. But everything was good; the small plates are generous and thoughtfully crafted. Our large plate was a redfish with sunchoke, and it was spiced very creatively. Everything we had was very interesting and unique, which I think Nashville dining really struggles with. Not Hathorne they take risks with their food but aren't too weird to eat. All of their stuff is very calculated; it pays off. We didn't have dessert, but we each had a dessert cocktail. That said: DO NOT miss the Amelie for dessert as long as it is on the menu. It's listed with cocktails, but it's an absolute treat and is a great compromise if you're full from dinner."
