"I was in the neighborhood, feeling like eating Italian, and I found this place. The food was really good. I had the Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich, and it reminded me of the Eggplant Po'Boy I had in New Orleans. The eggplant, the sauce, and the bread could not have been better. We had absolutely no complaints with the food, or the service, but the place is not without problems. One thing people need to know before going is that there is no traditional table service. You can go in, and sit down, but they won't take your order at the table. You have to go up to the counter to order. The process runs smoothly enough, and I suppose more places are going this way these days, but you need to know before you go. Another thing people need to know is that the place is small. That's not really a problem unless you get a lot of people in there who are drinking. People naturally get louder when they drink, and it can end up with one group trying to talk over another, and it gets loud. It got loud when we were in there, and it really kind of ruined the experience for us. I suppose some people don't mind, but it hurt my ears, and all I could think about was finishing, and getting out of there. You could run into the same problem in any number of restaurants, but the size, and the construction of this place makes it more likely to happen here. You can, of course, eat on the sidewalk. There are tables out there, but it is on a busy street, you if the smells of the city and vehicles get to you, it may not be too pleasant, either. Finally, we encountered a language/communication problem. That may or may not be a problem for everyone, but it can be. I don't want any of this to take away from the food, but people should know ahead of time to they can plan accordingly. The food is worth the trouble."

"I recommended this place to my husband after getting takeout here when I was with a friend a few months ago (the takeout was delicious! spring pea risotto and a passion fruit dessert a bit on the pricier side but the food was good so I wrote it off with that). We decided to come for dinner on a weekend away from home, we live in Denver. We made a reservation, the place was busy but not full and was not too loud, which was nice. We split the butternut squash salad with arugula. It was okay. I LOVE arugula, my husband could take it or leave it. From the looks of the place, I thought we would get something artistic, but in fact, we got a salad that looked like something I made at home all arugula with small pieces of squash and goat cheese. It was also huge (no complaints there) but it felt like we were eating arugula forever. lol. For dinner, I ordered the Black Cod entrée. My husband got the short rib dish. He LOVED his, it was filling and flavorful (except for, his words, the chopped green stuff on top that kept ruining all of the other flavors I enjoyed the fish in my entrée, as that was the bulk of it. It was swimming in a flavorful Asian-inspired broth and surrounded by big chunks of bok choy and snap peas. I wish there was something a bit more filling about my dish as I ended up nibbling on some of my husband's. After a while, my mouth got tired from chewing the arugula and then the bok choy and then the peas. The fish, DELISH! We decided not to stay for dessert and wandered town for some entertainment. I'd go back again but maybe try another meal (breakfast, lunch or brunch). Our server was nice, I don't remember his name, but he never cleared the table, so we ate dinner with our half-empty salads next to us and my empty cocktail glass. It may have been too crowded if we ordered dessert. This place is overpriced for what we got in terms of service and food but I'd be willing to give it a second try to confirm."

"we had a man who was clearly intoxicated come to our table three times. the first time we were polite and waited until he left. When he came back with a friend, we were polite again until he left. we both gave a brief answer and did not really interact. the third time he came alone and sat on one empty chair at our table. we all tried to ignore him when our server came by and realized that we were uncomfortable. he asked the man if he needed something and when he left, I could say he would bring a manager to cope with the situation. before the management came back, he grabbed my friend among the table, so I screamed to end to go and make a scene, because why should I be interested when I am rude to a stranger who has no respect for someone else. but the manager, our server and another worker came by when that happened. they made sure we were in order and also made sure that someone went to our car when we were ready to eat. the man and his friends stayed at the bar and drove past us during the night, but the manager himself and our server accompanied us from our table to the door and then to our car. I've been working in the food since I was 16 and I guess how they realized there was a situation without us balizing it and introducing the necessary steps. I can't remember the names of our waiter, but he has read a wonderful work and addressed the situation, and eating and drinking were great!"
