"This restaurant used to have a system where diners would order at the window and receive a number for their food to be brought out. I’m not sure when they changed this, but now they serve at the tables without having proper waitstaff—only two people handle the cash register and make coffee. This has slowed down the service and overwhelmed the limited staff they have. My family tried to eat there today, but it took too long just to place our order. We decided to order from the window and take our food to Fort Greene Park instead. Unfortunately, our food took an eternity to arrive, and once we settled in the park, we discovered that one of the three items we ordered was missing. To make matters worse, we weren't given any utensils, which was surprising since we ordered an egg platter and a salad. I had to walk back to the restaurant, only to find out that the item had never been prepared. I chose to get a refund instead of waiting. I really hope the owners consider hiring proper waitstaff or return to the original ordering system, as the current setup just leads to chaos and slow service for everyone."

"I went into N&J Cafe trying to deviate from the more common Mediterranean place that most people are familiar with in town. You know the name, rhymes with Teddy. ;)The inside wasn’t too bad, clean, and orderly. A nice man immediately greeted me at the door, and told me to pick any seat.Once seated, my friendly waitress came right over. She brought my water right over, and provided my menu. I ordered the chicken shawarma, hummus, and baba ghanouji. The food came right out with very little wait.The chicken shawarma was only ok. Kind of messy and too only so-so flavoring. I would not order this again, and do not recommend. I’ll try something else if I happen in again.Hummus was good. Pita chips seemed sort of old, and the pita bread was cold (used to it more fresh and warm).Baba ghanouji was good. I thought flavor was good, and consistency and texture was up to par.In the end, service was great, shawarma was only so-so, but sides were good."

"this evaluation is for the 12th March 2022.1. time here and was met by 3 other people. there was only 1 person there that was the bartender and the server so that the dings were a little slow, especially order the cocktails. the bartender was friendly enough, but it was all except cooking. lol. three of us had a cocktail and decided to have the stuffed funguys as early appetizer as we had reservations for later close. the cocktails were interesting, but somehow hit and miss with the aromes. I had the blueberry daughter and it was okay. they had the blind russian and thought it was wonderful. another had something burboun. for the appetizer we asked how many it would be, and he pointed around 10 12 and we thought ok, as there were 4 of us. the problem was they were tiny. the taste was decent, but nothing too excited to get. Of course, that was in order, as we had reservations in the evening and not getting full on the look for, but if someone was more difficult, I would pass on them. I will say for a relaxed hangout that it would meet the bill. I like the inner, the location and that they serve coffee and adult drinks. I'll go back to the finals. it is nice to have this place close to all restaurants on brookside."

"The restaurant boasts a lovely interior and stunning views from its spacious outdoor seating area. The cocktails were delightful, and the bartender was friendly and attentive. However, we found parking to be somewhat challenging. We arrived around 9 PM on a Saturday, just as live music was wrapping up. The crowd was predominantly young, mostly in their 20s and 30s, and we noticed that some patrons had indulged a bit too much by the time we left before 11 PM. There were also a few dogs in the outdoor area, adding a nice touch. The location is somewhat isolated, away from the bustling bar districts. There were two food trucks—one serving hot dogs and the other tacos—that looked intriguing, but we had already eaten."
