"I 'm not gonna knock the kicking crab Xpress. I 've enjoyed it from time to time... And I was actually pretty sad to see that it was closed during Covid times. I 've been so excited to know it was back to the Cerritos mall and serving up that delicious Cajun goodness. Went to the mall a few days ago and ordered their shrimp platter special. The young man who prepared it was so nice and even made recommendations on a spicier sauce which turned out excellent. So good in fact, I went back upon completion of my meal and ordered an extra to go for my husband to dry. Imagine the shock over when I came home with an anemic plate of lackluster shrimp. Now mind you, I had checked out his plate and noticed a major visual difference while still at the mall, I took it back to the kiosk and told them that they had forgotten the sauce to which they apologize for and handed me back a fixed meal. It was nowhere near as good as the first plate and lacked seasoning severely. Forgivable. Not everyone has to have a heavy hand with seasoning and it was just a complement to the rice to have such a nice saucy dish. Cut to a few days later, today in fact. I took my husband to the mall so we could enjoy a shrimp platter together on a nice day out while the kids are at school. I ordered the same thing I have ordered at this point 3 times and received a shrimp platter this time with absolutely no sauce. We unfortunately had Take an hour meal home to enjoy it and were shocked to find essentially some boiled up shrimp and rice and a cooked piece of lemon. Really disappointing, this place is good but check your mail before you leave and make sure it 's actually season. Waste of $16 and our time :"
