"This used to be an easy 5 star rating; I've been a loyal and frequent customer of New China House for about 15 years! They've consistently been my favorite restaurant in this entire area, and the only local Chinese restaurant I patronized that's how much I loved the food I used to get. I absolutely LOVED their Monk's menu (particularly the Monk's Beef (seitan) with Broccoli, which I nearly always ordered), and the Crispy Eggplant! The Vegetable Chow Mai Fun was tasty, too. I also always included the Vegetable Spring Rolls and Vegetable Dumplings (fried) with my orders. Because I'd been ordering the Monk's Beef with Broccoli for so many years, I didn't even know about the Crispy Eggplant until about a year ago... when I promptly fell in love with it, and ordered it repeatedly thereafter (alongside the Monk's). I cannot BEGIN to convey my disappointment when they suddenly stopped offering the Crispy Eggplant. However, I assumed they still had my old favorites... but no! The ENTIRE Monk's category has been removed from the menu! AND even the Vegetable Dumplings have disappeared, too! Alllllll the dishes the only dishes I loved are gone! New China House, say it ain't so! Please bring them back!"

"This is hands down the best Asian fusion restaurant around! The food is always fresh, the delivery is very quick, and the staff is friendly. The interior is beautifully decorated with a nice bar and attentive waiting staff. Their cocktails are well-crafted. I ordered delivery today and got my favorite dishes: lemon chicken, cheese wontons, chicken and broccoli, and roasted dumplings. The citrus sauce served with the dishes is light, sweet, and absolutely delicious."

"I came in on a cold early morning in January afternoon. The menu had plenty of items to choose from. I selected the hibachi shrimp. After I placed my order, I patiently waited in the store's small waiting area. As the minutes passed, I became colder and colder. After ten minutes, I found myself pacing up and down the waiting area to stay warm. I soon when to the counter and asked the cashier how come there was no heat in the waiting area. The cashier said the plexiglass screen that was up to help protect from covid and robberies was blocking the heat from reaching the waiting area. Come on now! That makes no sense in the dead of winter.I suggest calling it in or dressing in layers. The food was good, but this cold take-out restaurant could have been a better experience."

"Delicious, spicy, and delightful—let me share my experience at Great Wall, where you can savor authentic Chinese cuisine. The restaurant boasts a modern yet cozy ambiance that beautifully reflects the essence of traditional Chinese dining. We sampled the Hong Kong Style Shrimp Ho Fun, Twice Cooked Pork, and Mapo Tofu. The Ho Fun was flavorful and light, though it had a bit too much oil; still, it was quite enjoyable. The Twice Cooked Pork was rich and indulgent, complemented by the satisfying crunch of onions and bell peppers. The Mapo Tofu had a soft texture and was infused with the enticing aromas of ground pork and a blend of spices. Each dish satisfied my craving for spice, making it a truly delightful experience. A true treat for spice lovers!"

"I spent more than $250.00 at this establishment for delivery in the last 7 days. When I complained about the Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce having no Pork all of a sudden my next delivery order received a call stating that they did not deliver that far. They had 5 orders this far for delivery!!! I had generously tipped their bike/drivers. I had also placed orders for pick-up on my way home!! Requested that the Manager give me a call back regarding the delivery order I placed tonight and he did not have the courtesy to give me a call back. The food was fine until that last dish and that is why I tried to order again and received this comment of discrimination by one of the employees at the restaurant."

"This restaurant serves delicious Chinese food with generous portion sizes. We usually order favorites like shrimp egg foo young, egg rolls, egg drop soup, General Tso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, beef with broccoli, and fried rice. Everything is consistently good, which is why we often choose Asian Express for our takeout. Parking can be a bit challenging since it’s located in a strip mall that sometimes gets crowded with other restaurants."

"Not very exciting Chinese food; NYC has much better to offer. Disappointing overall; I had a carryout order and couldn't find the restaurant as their sign shows 2 different names (A.A. Jing and Pearls Asian Cuisine), neither of which are the name on their website, ordering site, and map sites (Amazed Palace). One item of our small order was incorrect. I asked for chopsticks with the order but they didn't include them. The food was of mediocre quality, including small shriveled shrimp, shrunken dumplings, and huge quantities of soupy sauce that seemed to be trying to make up for the small amount of food in the dish. Their staff was friendly but I think that's really the only positive. I don't expect to go back."

"I ordered Chicken Lo Mein, but the chicken was undercooked and the noodles were raw. When I tried to complain, the staff were quite rude. I definitely won't be going back again. I do not recommend this place."

"A mixed bag this time around: Order was correct; delivery was timely and courteous, no problem there; and their Wonton Eggdrop Soup was wonderful as always. However, the other items were not up to Spring Garden's usual excellent standard. The meat in the White Meat General Tso's Chicken was very dry, tough, and skimpy. And while the shrimps in the Shrimp w/ Lobster Sauce were fresh and ample sized, the sauce wasn't what we expected not spoiled or bad, just odd tasting. Maybe we're just used to a different type of Lobster Sauce, or maybe Spring Garden was just having an off day, who knows? In any event they're still on our go to list and we'd definitely be happy to order from them again; we just hope next time they'll be back to their usual five star quality."

"I ordered the combination lo mein, which should have included chicken, pork, and shrimp. However, my bland lo mein had no shrimp whatsoever, and the hot and sour soup was a flavorless mess with too much tofu."

"The food here is great, with generous portions and quick delivery. I particularly enjoy the vegetarian options, and they even allow you to customize other dishes with vegetables. The restaurant is also very kid-friendly and welcomes everyone."

"This might just be the worst Chinese restaurant in the world. Upon entering, you see a small dining area with a couple of park benches. The counter is covered in plexiglass, pieced together with what I can only describe as pieces of 2x4 found in an alley. There’s a SMALL opening big enough only for your credit card, and you’re expected to sign the slip and put it in a bowl of all other customers’ slips. Really, really weird.I ordered vegetable Lo Mein, which was simply a bowl of noodles with maybe 4 snow peas. Also ordered the beef Chow Mein which came with no noodles, and virtually no beef. It is ALL onions. Also ordered a side of spring rolls. No sweet and sour, no soy sauce, no mustard, no utensils. All the “food” is incredibly bland and extremely overpriced for what you actually get. This place is an incredible rip-off, and quite possibly the worst restaurant in all of Williamsburg. Avoid at all costs!!!"

"The prices at this restaurant don't reflect the quality or quantity of the food served. For a $14 Mongolian beef dish, one would expect a substantial amount of beef. However, the container was mostly filled with sauce and onions, with only a sparse amount of beef mixed in. Searching for the meat felt like an ordeal, as I had to sift through an overwhelming amount of chopped onion. It's just not acceptable to charge such high prices and serve such meager portions. Additionally, the flavor did not live up to the price tag. The other items were average at best. Overall, I ended up spending nearly $50 for a beef dish, an appetizer, lo mein, and fried rice—definitely not worth it. I won't be returning."

"Sichuan Bistro is an excellent restaurant! We have been dining here consistently for several years, and the experience is comparable to dining in Chinatown in New York or San Francisco. The staff is friendly and always ready to explain any dish from the authentic menu if you're looking to try something new but have some reservations. Just a tip: when a dish is labeled as spicy, it truly is! If you prefer something milder, simply let the waitress know when you place your order, and she will gladly adjust the spice level to suit your taste."

"I love this restaurant! They give first-cleass dishes, their menu is rich, The chief cook in that spot is very experienced, I love very much trying all their food. The dishes are consistently fresh and tasty, the attitude towards the customers is agreeable. I visit often this restaurant and I was never disappointed. I highly recommend it."

"I won't be ordering from that restaurant again. I ordered a dinner portion of General Chicken with extra broccoli, but what I received seemed more like a lunch portion, and there were only five small pieces of broccoli. I asked for white meat only and was charged an additional $3, which I was okay with, but the meat was still a mix of cuts. The fried rice I got looked and tasted like plain white rice with just some coloring and a bit of salt. This will be my first and last time ordering from there. It's just too disappointing."

"I'd been to House of Hunan once several years back and don't really recall much about the experience beyond them not being any different than most Chinese restaurants where I can likely get steamed veggies and rice. Thankfully, I stumbled across a little review online that stated the restaurant had expanded their vegetarian menu. My husband and I decided to give them a try and were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted quickly and cheerfully and the server was very good. They have an entire vegetarian menu in the back of their full menu with options including soy based mock chicken and mushroom based mock beef. They also offer brown rice. My husband ordered the orange chicken' and I ordered the beef' with broccoli. The portions are huge and we had leftovers for several days! It sure isnt health food, but it was darn tasty. A week or so after that we returned with my entire family to celebrate a birthday. This time my husband ordered the General Tao's Chicken' and I ordered the Beef' with mixed vegetables. The food was even better the second time around! To top it off, the serving staff was excellent, despite us having 11 people in our party and the rest of the restaurant staying busy. The manager spent quite some time helping out and bantering with us. The rest of my family ordered non-vegetarian items and were also very happy with their meals. I will give one warning- don't get this restaurant confused with the House of Hunan in Cape St. Clair. I tried food from the Cape location in between my two visits to the Riva location and the food was VILE. I had to throw it out and was afraid I was going to get food poisoning it was so disgusting and undercooked."
