"The sushi at this restaurant is exceptionally fresh and delicious. The maki rolls are not overwhelmed by sauces, allowing the natural flavors to truly stand out. They offer a wide selection of small plate appetizers, in addition to classic options like udon, soba, and ramen. The portion sizes are quite generous, especially the rice bowl, which is notably large. I highly recommend trying the soft shell crab, pork cheeks, nigiri, and maki rolls. The karaage had a thicker batter than I expected, but it was still flavorful. The Beef Coquette was somewhat bland on its own, but it was quite enjoyable when paired with the spicy mustard. Additionally, there are private rooms available for a more intimate dining experience. Overall, this restaurant is an excellent choice for enjoying Japanese cuisine with family and friends."

"Consistently excellent Japanese cuisine with a diverse menu selection. This time, I ordered the small chirashi bowl, which was just the right amount of food for someone who's not too hungry. I also tried the katsu toji, which features black katsu in a soy sauce broth. However, the katsu was a bit tough and overly salty. I'm not sure how to address the toughness, but definitely make sure to enjoy it with a generous bowl of white rice so you don't waste any of that flavorful broth!"

"My favorite thing about this place is the experience it brings that is otherwise lacking in NYC. The inside of the restaurant is quiet and serene, and the sets that you can get feel very authentic. The prices are definitely too high, especially considering none of this food is authentic enough to actually be coming from Japan. I enjoyed the food greatly, but it did feel like a Japanese dish made out of American ingredients. I had the ootoya nabe. The broth was flavorful, and most of the ingredients were perfectly cooked and had soaked up the flavor of the soup. My one complaint is that some of the fish pieces had bones in them which made it difficult to eat. I also got the matcha ice cream dessert, which was probably my favorite thing. It’s very small, but perfect after a slightly heavy meal and all the flavors were only slightly sweet which I appreciated. The staff is incredibly attentive and you never need a reservation."
