"Came here on a Saturday around 12:30ish and it was packed! The line to order was out the door! Not sure if that 's normal or not, but if you come here, plan to be a while. This place delivers your food in take out containers regardless you decide to eat there or not. You order at the register then wait for your name to be called. We got the lunch combo which came with udon (choice of hot or cold), choice of topping (sansai veggies or tanuki tempura flakes) choice of donburi (rice bowl) or cut sushi roll. What a great deal!! We got all lunch combinations, all with the hot udon w/tanuki topping, except my husband, he got the sansai topping. We chose unagi don, spicy don, curry don and California roll. The udon noodles were soft and not super chewy. The broth was just the right temperature and the flavor was pretty good too. The curry was good, typical Japanese curry. Unagi was flavorful. The spicy don wasn 't spicy at all and the California roll was not bad either. I don 't really have anything bad to say about this place. But it wasn 't OMG the best udon I 've ever had! type of reaction. Would I return?? Yes, if I was in the area."

"This restaurant was definitely worth the drive! The service was fantastic; our server, Jaime, was very patient with us and explained all of the options. There was a bit of a wait for our food, but the quality of the dishes exceeded our expectations. The fresh vegetables and well-presented meats were especially impressive. We highly recommend seeking out this restaurant, especially if you have a big appetite!"

"Really really liked this place. The food is great! Matcha mille crepe is definitely the must try. Everything we ordered was delicious, tofu steak was tender and flavorful nabeyaki udon in iron pot was super comforting and the udon was cooked to perfect doneness one of my favorites was unatanma. Keto lover's dream sushi! The balance between sweet tender tamagoyaki, creamy cheese, melt in your mouth eel, wrapped in nori and paper thin sliced radish sashimi was fresh and tasty For the portion as reference, we ordered slightly more than enough for two. Other things we would like to try next time would be the sushi sashimi combination (the nagitoro roll looks very appetizing), especially the big maki taxi driver, spider women."

"This place is so great! My mom loves shabu shabu so we came here for her 84th birthday while visiting Oahu. We got three sets (two ribeye and one pork belly) for three adults and three kids. Both were great but the ribeye was the group’s favorite. The sets came with tofu, vegetables, and a dumpling, which was so flavorful. We accompanied the sets with the asuka base and two spicy asuka bases. Both had wonderful, complex flavors. We also got some extra sides to put in the soups. Definitely get shiitake mushrooms if you are a mushroom fan and try the fun kimchi bombs if you like kimchi. The bomb is mochi filled with kimchi and a Korean duk (rice cake). In addition to the great food, the service was just as wonderful. All the staff were super friendly, helpful, and warm. Get out of Waikiki and head a little north to Asuka. You won’t be disappointed."

"We went on a Sunday a party of three, the first thing I noticed is that there was a woman and her two children there and the place was empty and this was around one. The staff was awesome however they didn't really explain to me to us and what we were all going to be charged for we were charged as a group. I had appetizers I wasn't eating the all-you-can-eat, yeah I got charged as if I ate the buffet. The food was mediocre at best the presentation was horrible our food came out on the robot, and our waiter sorted everything out he threw all the meat on the grill at the same time and that's another thing I can't even call it a grill it wasn't all the juices were connected together everything touched each other it was not a pretty picture I lost my appetite and I wasn't even eating the buffet. It got to the point where we said enough was enough and asked for the bill we got the bill and saw that each one of us have been charged the full amount for the buffet which was wrong. The bill was paid we just wanted out of there so we could go to a restaurant that we would actually enjoy which we found phat boys did an awesome job. I just think they need the better communicate what people are getting into when they go there from the ovens and grills that they have that will be using and to have the bill is being sorted out."

"Crab dip was subpar but steamed shrimp was awesome. Server never cleared the table before bringing out more food. Then the runner looked confused when I asked her to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed the building was under negative air pressure caused from Kitchen hood exhaust (kitchen saloon doors sucked in) causing hot humid exterior air to rush into the restaurant when the exterior doors would open. Sit away from doors if you want A/C. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to long pier on the water."

"The food was okay but the service was terrible. We had AYCE combo A. It was a little bit more expensive compared to other hot pot places. The meat quality was okay for the price range. Nothing special about the soup or the dipping sauce. However, raw egg would be a much better option to have. Besides I would like to have more choices on the veggies. I really want to complain about the service. The waiter was rude and we have to keep asking for water. I don't think I will visit this place again if the service quality was still so terrible."
