"Friendly staff and the place was extremely busy but the food quality is very subpar. The fish isn’t fresh and the rolls are overpriced for fake crab. Most of the rolls have Imitation Krab and the salmon lover roll the salmon was slimy in texture. I also didn’t like the plates and utensils they serve for dine in guests it just cheapens the experience even more with styrofoam products. The only roll that was semi edible in my opinion was the veggie roll other than that I wouldn’t recommend or try coming back here for sushi.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian roll is the only thing I’d recommend to eat here if you’re very hungry."

"I walked here from Virginia to grab some lunch, and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the Shrimp Mei Fun and requested a bit of spice, and it did not disappoint. It had just the right kick and was full of flavor! The vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the shrimp was large and delicious. I’ve definitely found my new favorite spot for this dish and can’t wait to try more. The atmosphere is nice and open, with a bar that has plenty of space. Since the weather was pleasant, the inside area flows nicely to a comfortable patio as well. Although I didn’t dine in this time, I would feel very comfortable doing so in the future."

"This restaurant is excellent. My friend and I always go away from here, but we tried to dive tonight. Buffet style without the buffet so choose your ingredients and prepare your Hibachi fresh for you. Like a Japanese steakhouse without the show and the company around you that you don't even know. Lol. Owner and daughter were very friendly and helpful. Small place and one in the rough Montague Ave. Very healthy and well cooked orders with a simple atmosphere. We'll be back."

"We also tried the Glazed Japanese Sweet Potato, which had a pleasant buttery taste, but again, it lacked flavor. The Ajitama Scotch Egg was quite unique—I haven't encountered anything like it elsewhere. Although the concept of using a layer of ground beef was interesting, the flavors didn't quite come together. The Petite Pepperfin came with a sauce that was also very bland, but the deep-fried jalapeños added a nice touch. We enjoyed sake bombs for just $5 each! Overall, I'd say their happy hour offers great value, but they could definitely improve on their flavor combinations."

"Stopped in here last week to pick up dinner to go. I had tried to order online but the site wasn't loading. I was asked to wait nearly 10 minutes while she seated other people and did various things. It didn't appear very busy, but maybe they were low staffed or she was new. When I finally placed my order I had to repeat it multiple times and had to show her on the menu where Chicken Karaage was. Another 20 minute wait, outside since there wasn't space to wait inside. Took my food home and unboxed it, I will say it was all packaged well. The Cardinals roll was very good. The rice was cooked perfect, the fish was fresh and the presentation was nice. I was disappointed in both the chicken and the Tonkotsu. I knew that travel time would reduce the crispiness but it really had no flavor. The ramen noodles were a bit firmer than I like and it was a very small portion. The pork was tough and the broth was almost flavorless. Sad that I didn't like it better as the restaurant is nearby."

"Now, onto the food: I ordered the spicy teriyaki chicken bento box, which came with soup, salad, shrimp vegetable tempura, a California roll, rice, and of course, the spicy teriyaki chicken. Everything was fantastic! I'm particular about how my chicken is prepared, and I appreciated the option to substitute white meat for dark meat. My colleague ordered the same dish but opted for regular chicken teriyaki, and she also loved her meal. The portions were generous, and we made the most of it! I only wish I lived closer. However, I will definitely return the next time I'm in town for work! To top it all off, when we were leaving, she insisted on holding the door open for us. The customer service here is truly exceptional!"

"This area has very few options when it comes to sushi. My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a shot, but we found it to be below our expectations. We are both sushi enthusiasts and have experienced a wide range of sushi places across several states, and I'm afraid Nona Sushi ranks among the less impressive ones. The prices are quite high considering the quality of the food; it’s only slightly better than what you’d expect at a typical buffet's sushi bar. While the service was reasonably good, I can't justify paying a premium for something that doesn't deliver on flavor. You can easily find sushi of similar quality at a Harris Teeter for a much lower price."

My work colleagues I used to order lunch takeout at least once a week here, but have completely stopped going sincearound January 2022 as we found better options elsewhere. $100 GIFT CARD DECLINED: In October 2021, my boss bought me a $100gift card (picture attached) which we found a bit unconventional, but figured this must be the way they operate. The host didn 'tgive him a formal gift card, but instead rang in a takeout order, named it Meagan then physically wrote gift card on it. You can clearly tell it wasn 't an actual takeout order, as it doesn 't show any charge for tax. I decided to give this placeanother try since I had this gift card to use. My male friend I went for happy hour the total came to $82.43, so I wasexcited to have a free meal. The manager declined the gift card said there is no way to prove that it was purchased as a giftcard in their system. I understand this problem, however the gift card was purchased under a year ago I don 't feel I should bepunished for the restaurants lack of systems mistake. I believe the host wasn 't trained to sell gift cards or they didn 't havea system set up for gift cards at the time. Regardless of this, I have proof of a $100 non-taxed purchase for a gift card (written on receipt by the host at time of purchase) I am now out $182.43 20% tip because of this mistake. I love this twist to teriyaki chicken because it balances sweet and savory well, plus the texture of the rice is nice.Spicy Noodle Soup A hearty soup served with noodles, an assortment of seafood, and an assortment of vegetables. The noodles are cooked al dente, and they seem freshly made based on the texture. It's a very good soup, however my spice tolerance isn't great so I struggled to eat it and had to dilute the leftover soup when I got home. However, if your spice tolerance is good, by all means go for this dish!Shrimp Fried Rice Bowl This dish was HEAVENLY my favorite one out of the selection of dishes we ordered. It comes out in a pan, served with an egg and two hash browns on top. The fried rice has a slightly sweet taste that pairs well with the umami of the shrimp. I am absolutely OBSESSED with the crispiness of the hash browns that I could go on about it. A dish I'd definitely recommend getting.Kimchi Fried Rice (not pictured because we got it to go) A great mix of savory, tangy, and spicy. The rice is cooked just right, and seaweed is sprinkled on top as garnish. It also comes with a side of pickled yellow radish and pickled onions and jalapeños which complements the fried rice well.Not only were the dishes great, but service was great as well. Our server was swift whenever we needed extra utensils, more water, etc. Overall I'm very satisfied with my experience here! Totally coming back for that shrimp fried rice and other menu items."
