"My mom ordered a lunch bento box from this place, with Teriyaki chicken sauce. The bag it came in was soaked in sauce and had a hole in it, stained her shirt because the sauce was EVERYWHERE. The food was SOAKED in sauce, her spring roll was inedible. The food looks disgusting, due to the fact that it was completely soaked in the sauce. The service was horrible, they were so off putting to her. The only edible part of her food was the salad the ordered and her soup. Do better!!"

"KUMO GOT ME THROUGH BAR EXAM PREP! I had kumo multiple times a week while at home studying for the bar exam for two months straight and every time I was so happy because the food is delicious. I even decided that lunch special chicken terriakyi was what I’d have for the first day of the Bar Exam, so my dad picked it up and brought it to the hotel I was taking it in in Uniondale during my lunch break. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! Their lunch special are reasonable priced and they give a great amount! I’ve also been eating here since I went to VSN north and will keep continuing to do so! "I appreciated the concept of building my own bowl and the variety of ingredients available. However, I found the seafood components to be rather small. While the size is suitable for mixing with other ingredients, I felt the quantity was lacking, and some of the flavors were quite bland. If you have to drown your food in sauce or dressing to enjoy it, then it raises the question of why you should pay so much. You might as well just sip the flavored liquid that's masking the other flavors you want to enjoy. I'm not a big fan of overly sweet sauces and dressings, which often coat a lot of Asian cuisine. I prefer just enough sauce to enhance the flavor without overwhelming the dish. I might give this restaurant another try in the future to sample a different dish and provide a more comprehensive review. Some of the others in our group ordered various items, including appetizers. Personally, I find plain white rice, as well as the bland brown rice in my bowl, to be uninspiring. Rice should be cooked with broth and additional ingredients to make it flavorful."

"Aji is my favorite sushi place in all of NYC. The service is extremely kind, attentive and generous. Love the atmosphere — it feels relaxing in here. The menu is vast and everything is excellent. The specialty rolls are awesome (Spicy Girl and Mango Hawaii are a couple of my go-to's), the udon noodle soup hits the spot on a cold day. We always share edamame (no salt) and steamed shumai too. "Decent sushi, but do not order on the weekends! They are terrible with timing. They told us 55 minutes and it took 2 hours! This has happened in the past to us, but I figured they would have fixed this by now. We even asked on the phone if it was truly 55 minutes, and to be honest since we waited so long last time, and they assured us 55 minutes. Even when I got there, they were still taking orders while there was an angry crowd of at least 12 people. Everyone said they were waiting for 30+ minutes. Never again will I order from them. They need more staffing or a better system for the weekends."

"Good Sushi, Great Ramen The atmosphere lends a nice cozy and serene feel to the dining experience. The faux warmly lit latern style lighting contributes to the Japanese decor of the dining room. The sushi was good and freshly prepared as you order. Chefs are in view behind the sushi bar. I ordered a Chicago Fire signature roll and a Spicy Crab cucumber roll. The Chicago fire roll is semi-sweet with a slight kick. With 12 pieces there is plenty even for the hungry. The crab and salmon within was flavorful and deliciously blended with the avacado and cucumber. The Spicy Crab roll looked to be typical maki roll. There was a good amount of spiciness and paired well with the wasabi-laden soy sauce blend I mixed for it. I ordered a Tonkotsu Ramen to finish and was quite surprised. The chashu was tender, juicy, and savory. There was a good amount of fat along with the crisped skin and tender meat. This paired with the sunny side up egg (yolk is gooey perfection) and the slices of seafood and the noodles was great! I will definitely come back and be ordering the ramen again."

"I ordered take out lunch hibachi. Food was good but I was sad to discover that my take out hibachi didn't include the onion soup. I will be ordering again, but I'll make sure to order the soup along with the takeout hibachi lunch. Update: my initial review was for my order made last week, I ordered again today and the same host/server from last week was there to greet me. She was so nice and helped clarify I could get soup or salad with the hibachi lunch. Additionally, on my order today I asked if I could substitute the zucchini with more broccoli and she explained the recent price hike in broccoli costs meant they couldn't do a substitution. They did give me with the extra broccoli and no zucchini at all small up charge. She wrote a kind note summarizing everything on my box for me and they gave me an extra onion soup on the house which was so sweet and unexpected. My 4 star review had been upgraded to 5 stars. They went above and beyond to give a good experience."

"Try the Deluxe Tofu Lunch Deal!. Both lunch and dinner at Kim Son Cafe are delicious, however the lunch menu offers the best value. Take-out is good too, but I noted that the food is noticeably fresher with onsite dining. Try the Deluxe Tofu lunch if you like sweet-savory-spicy flavors...stir-fried peppery tofu with green peppers and jalapenos--tasty! The Deluxe Tofu dinner portion is larger (enough as a main dish for 2 people) and comes with steamed rice (vegetable fried rice costs extra at dinner). We ordered the Treasure Fish takeout by mistake and didn't enjoy it as much as the Deluxe Tofu. If you like Tilapia, ask to special order Tilapia with the same sauce used on the Deluxe Tofu--really, really fantastic! Also--there are discount dining coupons for Kim Son Cafe around town. We received our 10% and 20% coupons in the mail, and didn't have any problems using them either at lunch or dinner."

"Just moved to the area and was looking for a Sushi place for my weekly Friday sushi treat. Ordered from here based on reviews and I couldn't possibly be angrier at everyone who gave this place anything higher than 1 star. First off we ordered fordelivery. Half my order was ignored, no message, no communication, just ignored. The rolls were loaded with filler that notonly covered up what little flavor the small amounts of fish were in each roll, but left everyone feeling bloated and sick. The1 piece of Salmon Sashimi that they did give us smelled fishy and had a slimy texture. I am not a food critic but I do considermyself a sushi expert and eat it atleast once a week. I have had it across the country and around the world and I can saywithout a doubt this is the worst sushi resturaunt that is out there that doesn't also sell gasoline. Stay away from here!!!!"

"I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but I had a terrible experience. I ordered takeout and everything was awful. The rice seemed cheap and kept falling off the sushi. The sushi itself fell apart easily. The calamari was mostly fried flour with no actual calamari in sight. The duck spring roll was drenched in fat and too oily to taste anything else. The sushi had an old, flavorless taste. Overall, it was very disappointing. Hopefully, others have a better experience."

"the worst sushi I've ever had. we ordered a sortiment from simple hand rolls to special rolls and it was just so much rice it was intense. the rolls were so creepy, even a basic Californian roll did not even look appetizing. the hibachi was terrible, the rice hd no taste, the noodles were immensely cooked until they were not even edible. not even the sweet was edible because they were so salty. I'm not saying that to blow the device because we really want it. the service was half ok next to the waitress was super attentive until it was annoying. that is not Japanese food, so please don't come here and expect authentic sushi. we ordered the Latin roll to try the hype of the place, and it was literally just a California roll with a planan up. save her money, because it was super overpriced without reason"

"The food here is fantastic! However, I have to give it one star because one of the front staff members tried to overcharge me. The tall, skinny girl with glasses is wonderful—she's kind, attentive, and genuinely puts in the effort to provide great service. On the other hand, there’s a shorter girl without glasses that I recommend avoiding. She recently tried to misrepresent the food tax. I typically order items priced between $12 and $13, which should only add a dollar or two in tax, but whenever she's working, the $9 items suddenly become $12-$13 and the $12-$13 items jump to $15-$16. Again, the food is excellent, but be cautious of unexpected price hikes if the short girl is on duty."

"We did have fun, as we were on a spontaneous mission for karaoke. But 12 of us were charged $10 each to enter... is there even supposed to be a cover charge? Suspicious, because the door guy at first asked for $20 per person.. And then karaoke was $50 per hour on top of that. The song selection wasn't the greatest and navigation was not very user friendly. At first the master volume was turned way down, so we had to solve that issue first, Escape room style.The room was pretty tired as well. We had fun, but have definitely been to better karaoke places."

"Me and my wife went for a hibachi dinner. Our server Taun was absolutely fantastic in every way possible. Unfortunately we can 't remember the cooks name but he was wonderful as well. The only reason I am not leaving a 5 star like I would like too is when Ispoke to someone asking if they were a manager. Instead of answering my question he simply asked , why, what 's wrong . Whichmade me rather disappointed that they believed I was wanting to complain. "Ok, I love sushi train! The staff here is awesome! Always friendly, welcoming and on point with their service. I have never once had any concerns with the food handling here which can happen at other establishments when it comes to sushi because of the conveyor belt type set up. The rolls are on the more basic side as a whole so a great choice for those less adventurous when it comes to sushi but will make anything you want you just have to order it. And prices are pretty reasonable compared to some of the other options so will continue to patron this place for sure.Vegetarian options: They offer a few different full vegetarian rolls and I typically spot these options on the belt at any given time"
