"POOR MANAGEMENT AND TERRIBLE FOOD PORTIONS FOR BEING CHARGED OVER $30. We ordered a combination plate of S P Catfish Popcorn Shrimp with Baked Potato, a Children 's Popcorn Shrimp with Mac 'n Cheese, and a side of broiled scallops. My husband got a small portion of Shrimp with his catfish, he only received TWO (2) HUSHPUPPIES, AND NO SALAD THAT HAS ALWAYS CAME WITH COMBINATION PLATES. My children 's Popcorn Shrimp plate only had 4 hushpuppies. My side of BROILED SCALLOPS WAS COLD AND WAS ONLY 4 SCALLOPS (Which the manager justified because they only charged us for fried SCALLOPS instead of broiled). WE WERE NOT offered any type of compensation of any sorts for what we were shorted. AS A MATTER OF FACT, WHAT SHE SAID WAS WE HAVE A SIGN THAT SAYS NO REFUNDS. I DIDN 'T ASK FOR ANY REFUNDS AT ALL, Just to have it made right on our possible return visit.... SHE SAID ABSOLUTELY NOT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM... I TOLD HER WE WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THE CAPTAIN 'S GALLEY EVER AGAIN, AFTER PROBABLY 20+ YEARS OF PATRONAGE, AND WE WILL BE SURE TO LET EVERYONE WHO WE KNOW, JUST HOW THEY DON 'T VALUE THEIR CUSTOMERS NOWQ. SO IF YOU READ THIS, MAKE SURE TO SPREAD THE WORD SO NOONE ELSE GETS DISRESPECTED THIS WAY TOO... When orders were placed before new management changes, you always received endless BOWLS OF HUSHPUPPIES. Now, you don 't get enough to cover the bottom of the bowl.... When I asked the lady who said she was a manager, if she was not gonna do anything to make their shortcomings correct for us, SHE MADE IT CLEAR THAT WAS NOT THEIR POLICY..... THEY DON 'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT US COMING THROUGH THOSE DOORS AGAIN..."

"Happy Crab was the first place for food and drinks my husband and I encountered upon moving to Eastport. We liked the atmosphere and service, which made up for any less than awesome food experiences...until this evening. We arrived, and waited for half an hour for someone to come to our table (we were unfamiliar with this person, but maybe because we came on a different night than usual). It was obvious our server was covering some tables, plus the bar, so of course we gave them grace. I have worked in the service industry and empathize. We eventually got food and drinks. We were brought the bill that we were not ready for, at which time we requested more drinks. Those were brought along with the amended bill. We joked that they were trying to get us to leave. A little while later, we managed to flag down our server who had been to all the tables surrounding us, multiple times. We asked for more drinks and were told that if we wanted more, we needed to go to the bar to order them. A little caught off guard we kind of nodded, not sure what that was about. We thought maybe after a certain amount of time (on a Sunday evening), they stopped doing rounds to tables or something. Then we stayed for another half an hour watching all the tables around us continue to be fully served while we were ignored. I managed to catch our server's attention again to ask for more drinks and an appetizer. I was instructed to go to the bar to order. I asked why we were the only table that had to do that and was told that it was because we had been there for awhile and it was busy. This would have been a little more palatable if all the other tables had to do the same, which they did not. My plan was to continue date night with my husband, in a place we felt comfortable and happy. Instead, frustrated, I went to the bar to settle up. I was handed a bill with multiple errors that resulted in an extra $20 of charges that had to be addressed and corrected. We frequent this establishment weekly, tip generously, and usually look forward to coming back. Not so much after this."

"we had a pleasant family dinner here. eating was good and atmosphere was fun. definitiw a kitschiges cajun chain restaurant. The thema is quite heavy in your face when you get through the door? but this is part of the fun. we ordered a cheese and chicken fondue to start. came with garlic bread to immerse in it. it was really hard, but delicious. the Jalapeno chicken was okay, not as exciting as he hoped, but pretty good. buttermilk chicken baskets were good. came with mais, pommes and hush puppies. the chicken was tender and the brot was the real deal. not excessively fat. child meal was very economical! if they have a child with a healthy appetit, I strongly recommend ordering from the adult menu. raw oyster were not the best. we regret to order them, but we have finished them. would have been nice if they had been hot. we didn't ask, so I think this is with us? fish basket was very nice. the teig was good and the fish was fresh and fluffy. cajun tricky fish was excellent! dirty rice was perfect, étouffé was on the spot and the black tilapia perfect. service was good. we were never left with empty glasses, but the empty glasses stacked on the table. our courts of our starters stayed with us all the time. once a superior came by and made a lot clear. manager also came a few times and seemed really nice. we never asked to take those plates, but it would have been nice if they were. I shouldn't have to ask for my opinion. overall we had a good experience and enjoyed our meal."

"On October 8, 2023, my wife and I decided to try brunch at EVO, attracted by their appealing online menu. We arrived around 10:20 AM to a pleasant atmosphere, and there were only about 10 tables occupied at that time, both inside and outside. The restaurant appeared to have plenty of staff on hand, including waiters, busboys, and food runners. We ordered water, tea, and a mimosa while we waited for our meals. I chose the scrapple cristo, which was supposed to come with brunch fries, while my wife ordered the classic benedict with brunch potatoes. A food runner placed my plate on the table and handed a very hot plate to my wife, who nearly dropped it. My order indicated brunch fries, and hers indicated brunch potatoes—I expected them to be different. I wanted to check with our waitress to clarify if there was a mistake on the menu or in the kitchen. As the waitress walked by, she glanced at our table and made a statement, not a question, saying everything looked correct, and she continued on to the next table. I managed to catch her attention at another table to request some hot sauce, planning to ask her about the brunch fries when she returned. However, she hurriedly dropped off the hot sauce without stopping to speak. I didn’t see why she was moving so quickly, as the restaurant didn't seem busy; it seemed like other staff were handling their tasks without the same urgency. When my wife cut into her eggs benedict, it was clear that they had been under a heat lamp for too long, causing the poached egg to be fully cooked. Eventually, the waitress came back, but as she walked past our table, she asked if we needed boxes. I asked her to come over, and my wife requested new poached eggs, ideally with hollandaise sauce. They did not come with sauce, and a food runner dropped them off and rushed away before we could say anything. We waited several minutes for the waitress to check on us again, but she never did. My wife became understandably frustrated and just wanted to get the check and leave. We walked to the host station to ask for our bill. I noticed the waitress hurrying from the dining room to the bar area. When she saw us talking with the hostesses, she approached us. I honestly told her she's the worst waitress we've ever had, and we just wanted the check to move on from this experience. She brought us the check just as the manager came over to check on us. We paid our bill and received our receipt. The manager wanted to make amends, but by then we were ready to go. I mentioned that we wouldn’t be returning and that they should focus on their beer selection. In all honesty, I might consider going back, but certainly not for brunch, and not this year. The entire situation was minor and could have been easily resolved with a more attentive waitress. As an introvert, it’s not in my nature to flag someone down or shout across the room for assistance. According to our receipt, we placed our order at 10:47 AM and left at 11:36 AM—during that time, we saw our waitress for maybe a total of ten seconds."
