"I love the Virgin Hotel brand and itâs a lovely space. But the night we went, the restaurant was fairly vacant so to make up for the emptiness they apparently decided to play classic rock SO loudly the three of us (literally) couldnât have a reasonable conversation. We asked the server if they could turn it down and the server claimed that they turned down the volume by a quarter, but we couldnât tell. I get it. The Virginâs brand is that life is a party and I love their rooftop bar, etc etc. I really wanted to love my dining experience. But this is still a restaurant. And people still want to, you know, communicate. As to the food, it was fine; not great. And expensive for what you get! Crazy. No one loved their food but neither did we dislike it. So we quickly ate and (obviously) skipped dessert. We couldnât get out of their fast enough. I told the hostess on the way out and she was super kind and wanted to make it up to us somehow but we just left. Iâll stick to the rooftop periodically and skip the dining room. I donât want to eat in the middle of a loud bar pretending to be otherwise."
