"The Populist has long been one of our favorite restaurants in the city, so we were excited to come and say goodbye. Unfortunately, the entire experience was quite disappointing, and to be honest, I wish we hadn’t gone because this last visit has forever changed my perception of what used to be an amazing restaurant. Our server was cold and unfriendly throughout the meal, and when she recommended a bottle of wine, it turned out to be sold out. The food was decent, but it didn't live up to the wonderful dishes I remember from the past. The Hamachi was simply cut too thick, which negatively impacted its flavor; it was a bit chewy and lacked the acidity needed to balance such a thick cut. On a positive note, the pot de crème dessert was fantastic. Wishing you all the best for the future!"
