"My mom heard about this place from a You Tube personality who reviewed this restaurant. I don’t know if that Real Estate/ Lifestyle Video Blogger had any restaurant review experience or worked in the food industry but I wouldn’t say this is a Five nor Four star place. And my experience is in the food industry. Our family used to own a made-to-go order franchise and before then a deli in NYC. I’ve been a server and bartender and studied wine regions in college so I know a little more than the average restauranteur. Also some published reviews and restaurant openings in NYC u0026 ATL . Overall for the price point a little disappointing. Food: 3.5 noodle soup, 4 for pork belly Service: 4 very accommodating Presentation: 4 Ambiance: 3 So when I asked my mom what she thought of her dish compared to the best rice noodle restaurant in Seoul she said this dish was a solid 3.5 and she’s being generous. Her dish came out before mine but when she tasted it she said it was salty, which is a big flaw b/c this noodle dish is suppose to be light and not hearty or salty. Thankfully the owner came by and checked on us. I tasted it as well and it had a salty taste and a strong clam after taste. I like salty stuff so if I find it salty it’s definitely over salted or seasoned. They were kind enough to start over for my mom. She has high cholesterol so she needs to watch her sodium in take. The second time it was finally right, the noodle texture was soft but chewy and was hand sliced so she liked that but the stock she said didn’t need the spicy sauce and that it could’ve been more hot. Her palate like my aunt is very sensitive. My pork belly came out sizzling and perfectly cooked, cut into bite size pieces. My only disappointment was that there wasn’t a lot of meat , barely four strips for $20! Maybe dinner service prices? They probably cut them up into small pieces to make it look like you’re getting more. Plus the pieces were more fat than meat. ? The banchan side dishes that came with the meal individually all were very good. Two different types of kimchi one fermented the other fresh, the steamed seasoned soy bean sprouts were perfect, the spicy radish 각두기 was also perfectly fermented and crunchy, the Korean pickled radish slices as wrappers for the pork also on par. Once the noodle dish came out the second time it was perfect and had plenty of seafood in it with a mixture of clams, a few shrimp, julienned squid and something else. I would’ve ordered the traditional style and not seafood but that’s what she wanted. The only thing I didn’t like about the meal was the differences levels of audio through the place. At times it was really loud and other times nothing at all. There are three TVs and two played K pop so that was majorly distracting while trying to engage my mom in conversation. Random spurts of audio would pop up in the environment. Either keep it muted or on throughout, stop playing w/ the remote please!! I might come back just to introduce Korean pork belly to my bf. Honestly I’d rather make it home w/ my Lodge pan but the banchan made the meal worthwhile."
