"Aug 12, 2023I ordered 2 sausage bakes. I love them since my coworker showed me back in 2015. First, they didn 't know the price and it 's not on the menu anymore, ok fine. $10.99 each for them?!? $24 after taxes?? Ok fine. It took 30 min for them to make it, i have no clue why. Then they said i can get them out if you like it a little doughy.... whut? No. So finally they are ready. They bring out a box that wouldn 't close, ok weird, whatever. I go out to my car and the sausage bakes are not right, so much dough! Why? It used to be like a pig in a blanket. $24 for two, half hour, not made right....idk what 's going on here but....I called and she says she issued a refund since they were still doughy and the cheese melted out. Upon further inspection, there was a sausage and a half in it. Maybe that 's why it was so big. This thing weighs a couple lbs at least....8-22-2023 Edit: Apparently the owner left me a rude reply after not reading my entire review and I 'm guessing canceled the refund they are raving about giving me because the money still has not been put back on my card. Well, at the very least it has been an interesting encounter with this business. I don 't think I trust them to cook this for me nor do I want to buy food from them again. I never did get to eat my food because the cheese melted out blackened, the sausage was dried out the dough was not cooked inside. Even though they told me to pop it back in the oven and it 'll be fine . It was not and would not have been. Lesson learned."

"Gen X remembers a time when pretty much every single corner pizzeria was amazing in its own right. Going into the 90 's, that started to change, and the trend has been monotonically trending downward ever since. In my neib, Midwood, we have Di Fara 's, of course. But I honestly can 't think of any other pizzas that knock my socks off. We have good ones, but other than Di Fara, none that really stand out. We were in Carrol Gardens and stumbled across Giardini. It looked good, so we walked in to get a pie and some calzone. The punchline is, Giardini really stands out. It 's hard not comparing Giardini with Di Fara 's, b/c Di Fara 's is my 'home turf ', and I love both pizzas. The difference is, of course, that Di Fara 's is known to be NYC 's most expensive pizza, which is obviously not a contest anyone should want to win. What did I like about Giardini? The cheese was fresh and tastes beautiful. The average pizza these days is flavorless, but not this cheese! The sauce was not overly sweet. I still like *my* sauce better, but in terms of pizza sauce, this sauce is savory, not sickening sweet. It has a ripe tomato profile, which has sadly become elusive in the NYC pizza scene. To me, it screams 'home made ', definitely not canned. The sausage was savory and vibrant. Very fresh tasting, and not overly greasy. The same for the pepperoni. The vegetables on our pizza roasted broccoli and tomato was fresh, tasted delicious, and was done in just the right proportions. The calzone was unbelievably delicious (I ordered sausage ricotta meatball). What was I neutral on about Giardini? I wish our pizza box had a pizza saver since we were carrying the pie home. One one hand, a pizza saver really works when you 're carrying a pie, but on the flip side, they 're environmentally unfriendly, so I can 't complain about this too much. What didn 't I like about Giardini? Nothing. There 's nothing I don 't like about this place. If they were here in Midwood, we 'd be going here exclusively for our pizza needs."

"Disclaimer: I'm from NYC, born and bred. I've eaten New York pizza from Manhattan, Staten Island, and Brooklyn all my life. I've also eaten in Nonna sauce (gravy) restaurants my entire life. With that said ...The pizza is not NYC style pizza. Maybe NY State, but definitely not NYC. The sauce is good not too sweet, not too spicy. It's thick and has been cooked well. It's not a fresh sauce (raw) sauce, which I tend not to like. The menu states that they use pizza cheese In NYC, pizza joints generally use mozzarella. Nothing more, nothing less. The cheese seems like it's mostly mozzarella, but it tastes like there's something else mixed in. This is very common here in MA. The crust tastes ok, but it's WAY TOO thick. It has the mouth feel and weight of a typical non-NYC crust. I don't believe it was hand thrown, more like rolled out and patted down. This is what I really didn't like about the pizza. The crust was too thick. They obviously clean their ovens because the bottom of the pizza wasn't burnt and didn't have caked on crud. This is very, very good. If you're looking for NYC style pizza, this isn't it. If you're used to thick, bread crusts then it should suite your taste.Their NY calzones are ok. Good fluff of ricotta, lots of mozzarella, and a nice crust. I just wish there was more ham. My calzone barely had any ham in it at all. I think I had two, very small, thin pieces The sauce is key thick and well-cooked.The eggplant parm with pasta is delicious! The slices of eggplant were thicker than I'm used to, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the breading is flavorful and the oil was clean. Eggplant is a sponge and will take on any flavor in that oil. I tasted nothing but perfectly fried eggplant! The edges were nice and crispy, there was enough mozzarella, and the pasta was good. Again, that sauce is delicious. All in all, I wouldn't order pizza or calzones from here again. HOWEVER, I will come back for the eggplant parm dinner."
