When I requested a recommendation for a lager, she seemed stumped, scanning the menu a couple of times before handing it to me and saying, "You take a look and let me know what you want."
After about five minutes, I finally had to ask for the food menu, which she tossed at me. I asked her how big the empanadas were, and she described them as being twice the size of the actual empanadas when they arrived. I wanted to order four different types to sample, but she rudely told me, "We can’t split them; they come in pairs"—no further explanation offered.
I settled on a pair of chorizo empanadas and a pair of guava and cheese. The chorizo empanadas were just okay, but the guava and cheese ones were overcooked, with an incredibly hard crust and barely any cheese to be found. After my first beer, my waitress didn’t check to see how I was enjoying the food or ask if I wanted anything else. I finished the four empanadas, which were quite small, but I didn’t feel like ordering more food, fearing I'd get more mistreatment.
In the end, I just got up and grabbed a large bag of pork rinds to fill myself up. I left feeling disheartened, not entirely sure why I received such poor service. The place wasn’t even busy!"
