"We arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation, but I had called an hour ahead to inform them. Although I had requested an outdoor table and the rain had just cleared, they seemed reluctant to seat us outside. They were quite busy inside, so the hostess mentioned that it would actually help them accommodate us. Unfortunately, it took an additional 20 minutes to combine two tables for our group. One of the tables didn’t have an umbrella, and the other’s umbrella was dripping onto our daughter and the baby carriers at the pushed-over table.
We requested to move to a large empty rectangular table with an umbrella right next to us, but were told it was reserved and we couldn’t be moved. After 10-15 minutes without anyone sitting there, my husband asked again. A staff member came out to say that since we wanted to change tables, we were stuck at the one we had, as the other would be needed for reservations. It was another 30 minutes before a group of just four guests sat down at that large table! Really? This was for an eight-top under an umbrella that could accommodate the whole party!
We also asked for the heaters to be lit but were told they were out of propane, though they did offer us blankets. Our drinks, including the kids' juices, took 40 minutes to arrive and came after we had already finished our appetizers! Thankfully, most of our food was hot and very good.
After mentioning to our waiter that this experience had been unpleasant, especially since we were regulars, he apologized and said he would see what he could do. We ordered three to-go desserts as we had already been there for two and a half hours, but nothing was comped or offered in any way, despite spending $300 and having praised the place to our guests.
I used to work in the hospitality industry, and I understand that the former owners were no longer there, that they were extremely busy inside, and that the rain added to the challenges. However, the lack of any compensation has left us questioning whether we will ever return."
