"The atmosphere is essentially that of a bar—it's enclosed and a bit dark, but hey, it's a bar, right? The food was nearly perfect. We ordered the Kalbi BBQ Chicken and the Bulgogi Spicy Pork plates. The Kalbi was fantastic, with an excellent balance of salty, sweet, and tangy flavors. The pieces were quite thick and a little chewy, but I actually enjoyed the extra chewiness because the meat was incredibly well-marinated and delicious.
The BBQ Chicken was a classic dish, cooked just right with thick, juicy pieces that were full of flavor. The Spicy Pork consisted of thick slices of pork belly, well-marinated and not overly spicy. The heat was more about flavor than actual spiciness, which was great. As for the Bulgogi, it was my favorite of the bunch. The taste was outstanding, and the beef was neither too fatty nor too lean—it was just right, with a fantastic marinade. I highly recommend trying the Bulgogi!
I only say "almost perfect" because the side dishes were a bit underwhelming. The kimchi, choy sum, potato, and bean sprouts were just okay—perhaps not the most authentic, but that’s alright since the star attractions here are the meats. However, I must say that the seaweed salad missed the mark completely. It was way too vinegar-heavy; I couldn't eat it, even though I usually enjoy vinegar. They definitely need to balance it out with some sugar to tone down that sourness.
The mandoo (dumplings) were surprisingly stuffed, despite their smaller size, and they had a fantastic filling. That was a delicious side, and I recommend trying them. The prices here are incredibly reasonable, too. These days, it's hard to find a Korean plate lunch for less than $20, but we got the Kalbi Chicken for $16.99 and the Spicy Pork Bulgogi for $14.99, each with generous portions. I can't remember the last time I saw a Kalbi plate lunch priced under $20, which is definitely a plus!
So yes, I would come back again, and you should too. Don’t pass them by just because you’re heading to the beach. They’ve got some amazing food, and I’m honestly kicking myself for not discovering them sooner. I’ll definitely be returning for their other Korean dishes and, of course, that Bulgogi!"
