"I went here for lunch after my mother's visit at the hospital nearby. This is probably a better choice for getting Mexican food if you are near the Paseo Padre Parkway area. It's an East Bay and Fremont staple for getting your tequila and Mezcal fix. They have over 20+ selections here, and if you are a fan, newbie, or an aficionado of the Mexican spirit. I suggest you come by at this restaurant. The menu has been changed for the better, but the taste is still the same. This is more of a Mexican American palate. You can ask for some spicier hot salsa with extra cents. They have appetizers, tacos, burritos, bowls, Casuela (it's a guisado made with any protein, vegetables cooked in a clay pot or terra cotta pot that keeps it warm hot for longer periods of time while eating your meal) You can have it with corn or flour tortillas, or rice. They also offer many seafood selections like shrimp, shrimp cocktail, and grilled fish. I would say La Pinata offers more Mexican American style street food and some home cooking dishes to cater to many people like 3 to 5, or more. But there are selections for 1 2 people. Drinks are sodas, iced teas, Mexican spirits, tequila, Mezcal, margarita, mojitos, and wine. Portion sizes is average for Americans, so it's pretty big. This is an affordable restaurant because I ordered the grilled carne asada bowl with Spanish rice, pinto beans, pico de gallo, and shredded cheese. I added salsa that came with free corn totopos (tortilla chips). Chips and salsa were free to start off your appetite. The steak bowl was $9.99 and the raspberry iced tea was $3.45. Portion size is doubled compared to Chipotle. Food is more palatable and flavorful if you add more salsa for more spice, and flavor to your food. Food is very good here, and you will get the best bang for your buck here at La Pinata. Seafood prices are around $20 36 depending on the catch of the fish of that day. La Pinata is a Mexican restaurant that offers the best selection of Mexican spirits like Mezcal, tequila, wines, and other famous and popular cocktails. Then the food comes in second it's very good, flavorful and delicious. Add some salsa or ask them if they have a spicier salsa to satisfy your hunger and your spicy tolerance level. They can accommodate whatever allergies you have. Food and drink are 5/5. Ambiance has changed to a modern and Mexican feel of the surrounding 5/5. This place might have changed ownership and management for the better since the original owners retired."

"TL;DR: Weaselly and dishonest, rude, only average food nothing special. More detail: One of my biggest pet peeves is dishonest, weaselly business practices. I ordered guacamole; menu sign lists the price as 6.99. When the young lady (who was rude attitude rang it up, it charged me 7.99 (a dollar more . When I pointed out the price as quoted on the sign, she looked me in the eye and immediately coldly said, That price is wrong. Excuse me?? Oh it iS, is it?? Well, isn 't that convenient. It 's not the dollar that angers me; I can afford it. It 's the dishonesty and the attitude. The correct response should have been: Sorry sir; we changed the price and haven 't changed the sign yet. Let me re do the total for you (followed by removing a dollar from my total . That price is wrong is NOT THE CORRECT RESPONSE. (Oh, and I wonder how long the price on the sign has been wrong and how many people noticed the overcharging going on? So, this place cheats its customers, and gives rude service. Is that all? No. My food was also utterly average, nothing special. Congratulations, you cheated me out of an extra dollar. You 'll never see me again, nor anybody I talk to about you, so enjoy your gain. No reason to come here for meh food, rude attitude, and sleazy dishonest business practices. No surprise to me that there are so many negative reviews on Yelp mentioning how rude the clerks are. Go elsewhere."

"My friend and I were starving after our New Year's celebration, so we decided that we needed something heavy. Adelita's popped up on our radar. It was a place my friend had been to before. We knew we had to check it out together. We got ourselves a Café de Olla $3 , the Vegan Plantain Burrito $10.50 , and the Vegan Tamales Plate $16 . Using the Yelp check-in offer, we got free chips, guac, and salsa fresca! Complimentary Chips 5/5 Some of the best complimentary chips out there. It is a huge plate, great for sharing. The corn chips were fresh, and the dipping salsa and guac were perfectly seasoned. Normally, you'd have to pay for these chips. Show the server your check-in offer! Café de Olla 5/5 Café de olla is a traditional Mexican coffee beverage that contains spices. This coffee was so robust and flavorful that it made my friend consider switching their daily coffee to this. Comes out very hot! No creamer required!... though you may ask if they have any. It is a very bold cup after all. Vegan Plantain Burrito 5/5 This order was my friend's. You'd think this item would be more commonplace. The truth is... we have never seen anything like it. The simple addition of plantain brings life to the burrito and they've added plenty! So sweet, so savory, and so incredibly filling! We also love how affordable the price is, given how much ingredients they have given us. Vegan Tamales Plate 5/5 Geez, the two tamales the restaurant gave me were HUGE. They are satisfying to cut into with a fork. Love seeing the steam produced from the inside. The tamales themselves are packed with great flavor, but the tomatillo-forward sauce sealed the deal for me. The sides were just as memorable. The black beans had the right texture and saltiness, while the rice was cooked and seasoned to perfection. If the food was so excellent, how come the 4 stars? We were told to be seated and that a server will be with us shortly, but ended up waiting approximately 15 minutes before I went up to the front and informed the staff of our waittime. They apologized, and had a server ready for us after a few minutes. My friend ordered from the vegan menu because they are vegan. It's refreshing to see a Mexican restaurant appeal to this demographic. We had only wished they were more careful when they prepared the first Vegan Plantain Burrito. The first burrito contained sour cream, which was not listed as an ingredient in the item. Thankfully, we had it sent back and replaced quickly. We arrived on New Year's evening, so it was fairly packed. The service here was friendly and attentive. We will be back for Adelita's in the future! 4.5/5"
