"As a retired police officer and a former resident of Sacramento, I have always enjoyed visiting Fanny Ann’s, especially since I celebrated my 21st birthday there. However, after my recent experience, I won’t be returning. Yesterday, I witnessed an incident where a disabled officer from Citrus Heights, who was injured in a shootout in Roseville in 2013, was ousted from the establishment. Officer Rangel was simply having lunch with a friend and his service dog, which clearly had a service dog collar. The manager unjustly claimed the dog wasn’t a service dog due to the officer’s race, violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. This kind of discrimination is unacceptable, and I can no longer support a place that treats people this way."
