"The food here was pretty good, especially the fried green tomatoes, but the atmosphere left a little bit to be desired. Apparently someone had wiped the tables off with the wrong solution, which stripped off the varnish and left the surface sticky and gross. It was kind of hard to eat with my elbows sticking to the table. A makeshift table cloth wouldn’t have been a bad idea. Also, the bartender (white guy with long, dark hair in a ponytail) was having a very loud and obnoxious conversation with one of wait staff so it made it hard to have a conversation with my mom across the table. Something about Dr. Phil and homeless guys on his show? I don’t know, but it was kind of inappropriate and didn’t make for the greatest atmosphere. Lastly, my mom ordered the half sandwich and soup but the soup came out ice-cold. Apparently the soup warmer had died. I’m not sure how someone in the kitchen didn’t notice that they were spooning cold soup into bowls. Our waiter apologized and took it back to the kitchen to warm up (in the microwave, I’m guessing) but it took a while and by the time he came back, she had finished her half sandwich."
