"This was our first time trying Callaloo and we loved it! It is comfortably decorated and we were seated promptly. We found the food to be homemade and plentiful. There is a good choice of wines that are reasonably priced. We started with the brisket rolls which had lots of brisket in them. They were 2 good size rolls that came with a sauce and some of the restaurants Super slaw. Different and very good. In fact you find many of the items on their menu to be things you don’t find in other restaurants. I tried the Callaloo stew which was very flavorful and my husband felt the same about his chick pea and chorizo soup. For entrees, we went with the Masitas y Plantanos, pork chunks and plantains and 2 sides and the pot roast and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. All the staff were pleasant and welcoming. Our server was Maya who couldn’t have been nicer. Maya was Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the food. We loved our experience at Callaloo and definitely plan on returning."
