"Everything about Gertie is whimsical from the decor to the staff to the food. One leaves feeling extremely satisfied and satiated, no matter what you eat, but also very happy. It is clear that both the patrons and staff are having a good time. I have favorites the chicken salad, matzoh ball soup, chicken schnitzel, German Potato Fries, The Egg and Cheese but I also love trying new things on its menu, like the lemon ricotta pancake with bourbon syrup on weekends. Everything is always delicious. Add to this that the staff is socially conscious, preparing food for those in need, holding voting drives and fund raisers, most recently for Ukraine, and Gertie is hard to resist."
