"Long winded but please read! We live about two miles from this place, and have frequented numeroustimes. On this Mother’s Day eve we went with my 14 mo old daughter at 5:5Opm like we have so many times. We call ahead to rsvp for two and a child and were told, “no need, we have room, no problem”. Upon arriving 15mins later the hostess sat us in the only booth/table available. Before we could sit, the owner came over and said a child cannot sit there with a high chair. Important fact, this was the EXACT same booth we’ve sat in at least twice with my daughter. My take on the situation is the disgruntled, extremely rude owner didn’t want our daughter in the front of his place while he had a full restaurant..as if it’s some extravagant dinning experience lol. He gave no excuse other than ‘we won’t put a high chair there’. We explained we had sat there before, but we’re shunned and told we had to wait for another open table. Again, this is after trying to make reservations. We asked the owner if he had children to which he replied no. This is no surprised if you saw the man. It must be he has no compassion for local neighborhood parents and children. I know this is an area staple, but we will NEVER go back and if your family has dignity you wouldn’t either. As for the food, it is really only mediocre at best. It just happens to be convenient (Cremona in uptown is MUCH better! Next time I want Italian I will gladly drive an extra few mins for authentic quality food and friendliness, that you will not find at Alfonso’s! Maybe it just needs a new owner…Kid-friendliness: NOT KID FRIENDLY!!!"

"Was here the other day and had an eggplant roll. The young guy who makes the pizza was kind enough to make it fresh because there was no more. The older gentleman who stays at the cash register took the payment. While standing there waiting for the roll, all this guy did was complain to the other workers that the boss was watching from the cameras and calling him about the front door being open. After I paid, I asked for a little sauce on the side. The young man gave me a little container with sauce, no charge. I go in there today, 4/27/22, and the older gentleman serves me. I see a tray of rolls that came out recently because it was on the pizza counter, not in the display yet. I asked what they were and he said some of them were eggplant. I told him to give me one of those. He goes to give me one from the display. I told him no I want one of those that just came out. He said it's the same thing. I told him no it's not. I feel that I'm the customer, I'm paying for it, I should get what I want. I pay for it and then ask for some sauce on the side. He tells me it's 75 cents extra. I told him that I was just here that other day and I wasn't charged. So, just because I wanted the roll that just came out of the oven, not the one sitting for who knows how long in the display, he wanted to charge me extra for a side of sauce. It's not for the 75 cents, which I think is ridiculous, it's the principle. A guy like this is not good for business. Not coming here anymore!!"
