"I recall this place opening not too long ago, so I was eager to try it out and see how the place was doing. One thing I do love about a cafe is the aspect of all day breakfast, and Sweet Basil provides such! The menu has TONS of options so you are sure tofind something you can enjoy. The staff are very friendly and the environment is very home-like and clean. One thing you arecertain of getting here are excellent sized portions of food, you are not going to leave hungry! The food is very satisfying andthe ingredients are fresh and well prepared. Overall a great experience! HOWEVER. I do wish to add a side note. While I wasvisiting, seated at the table next to me was a man who claimed to be the owner. He had a lady guest with him and the duo hadordered at least five or six full plates of food, their entire table was loaded with food! They merely poked at the food, laughed, chatted, and just left, leaving all of the nearly untouched food to just be picked up by the waitresses and thrownaway. Sure, you may be the owner, but it takes a certain level of arrogance and disrespect to just have your staff work hard tomake all of that food to merely impress someone just to throw it all away. It could have been taken come, or just have it boxedup and hand it to one of the hungry panhandlers out there. With so many hungry people, food costs rising, and familiesstruggling, it takes a certain level of I 'm too important to care to remotely justify this owner 's wasteful actions."

"I just went to Longshots today for the first time for Ladies' League pool. For reference, I used to be part owner of a sports bar. There were two bartenders/wait staff working. One took my order for a drink right away. Then she had to play in a match (yes, they apparently can shoot pool while on the clock). The other mostly stayed behind the bar. I had to ask her two times, on the rare occasions she walked by, for a menu. Eventually I got one, she clearly wasn't happy about having to bring it to me (I was probably a whole 20' away). She never returned to ask if I wanted to order food. When I went over to pay just before I left, she asked what I had. I'm not normally a bee, but I was quite hungry so that does make me a bit less forgiving. I told her I had only had a diet coke because she never came over to take my order. She just shrugged... The atmosphere is dive bar not a problem, the one I part owned was a dive bar as well. But apparently this one was grandfathered in when regulations came out requiring separation of smoking areas from eating areas. We've been hit by smoke from Canadian wildfires, but this place made it look like clean air in Canada (sorry, Canadians, I truly feel for what you're going through). It wasn't just a bit smoky, it was a haze and very visible near the low ceiling. I ended up with the worse migraine I've had in years and years. There is apparently a ladies' room in the back that is allegedly handicap compliant, but the main one (I think it's the main, it's the one I was directed to) lacks bars on the walls of the stalls, and there were no towels. I did reach out to the owner via the only contact I could find that would actually get a message to him yup, social media, the big one. I still have not had any response, so it seems he doesn't care about the place at all. Needless to say, I will quit my pool team before I ever go back there."
